SPONSOR SPOTLIGHT — Heather Ann Designs

Spot Lit Wall

THE DAILY DIGI is excited have Heather Ann Melzer with us this month.  Heather has been in the digi community from the early days and has been involved actively ever since.  Her clean style and soft color pallettes are so pretty.  In addition to creating beautiful products and wonderful pages, Heather runs her own Etsy Shop and has worked as a contributing editor for Scrapbooks, Etc. Magazine.  In fact, my first “we want to publish your layout” email came to me from Heather herself (I doubt she had any idea who I was at the time!)  I’ve had the chance to meet Heather a few times since then (at CHA in Chicago as well as a random siting outside a hotel in Vegas ) and I can say that she has great smile, fun personality, and a contagious laughter.  Before we get to know Heather a bit better, let’s see what she created especially for THE DIGI FILES.

had_preview_desktopimagesThis is a great set of coordinating Desktop images for your computer.  I love that you can just plop a few pictures behind them and put them on your desktop.  There is a ton of room for icons and all the papers and elements are gorgeous to look at.  And because all of the designs are the same, you don’t have to move all your desktop icons around each month!  You can grab this set and everything else in the THE DIGI FILES HERE.

And remember…today is the 13th which means you have just two more days to get all of THIS for just $5!

Okay, and now on to the star of the show…

Hi!  My name is Heather Melzer (aka Heather Ann) and I’ve lived in and around Chicago, IL my whole life – a true midwestern gal.  I’ve been married to my husband, Tom, for 10 years and we have 3 children – Mackenzie (6), Katie (4), and Jack(1).  I’ve been scrapbooking for the last 7 years and have had crafty hobbies for as long as I can remember.

I started designing shortly after I started digi scrapping.  Once I became comfortable with my graphics program, I wanted to do more.  I had so many ideas that I had to give it a try.

I’ve been designing since October 2004

Both! 🙂

Managing my site takes an extraordinay amount of time (several hours/day), and I always try to spend at least one full day/week working on new product.  When I release new product, I’ll work for 3-4 days straight (morning, noon, and night)!

That’s a tough one because my most recent product is always my favorite.  Right now it’s my Lovebirds Kit and coordinating Treat Set.  My favorite product of all time is probably my Monthly Memories Kit.

Probably my Quick Fill Sets – they’re a great jumping off point for layouts. (These quick fill pages come in BUNDLES as well as SINGLES)

1. That my husband and I are truly a team
2. Kenzie’s creativity
3. Katie’s eagerness to help
4. Jack’s sweet nature
5. That my family lives so close by
6. Owning my own business
7. Vanilla Capuccinos
8. Crocs
9. Short hair
10. Etsy

1. Pessimism
2. Chicago winters
3. Mean people
4. The country’s current economic situation
5. Disorganization
6. Not having enough hours in the day
7. That Reese’s peanut butter eggs are only around at Easter time
8. Always forgetting one thing on my grocery list
9. That chocolate makes you gain weight
10. Having more ideas than I do time to see them through

Now let’s see some of Heather’s other gorgeous stuff…

With Valentine’s Day almost done is is time to start thinking spring, bunnies, and EASTER.  This is a cool 2-mini kit set!

recipe_album450I LOVE this recipe album — perfect for saving those great family favorites in a beautiful and easy format!

sketchy_alpha450Isn’t this alpha so fun!  I love alphas that can be used on any pages!

I also love this font! I especially love the look of the uppercase letters!

And here are a few of Heathers GORGEOUS Etsy pieces!

And here are some great layouts, all made with HEATHER ANN DESIGNS

Thanks, Heather, for being a part of THE DAILY DIGI this month.  We look forward to seeing what else you create in your digital designs as well as your Etsy shop!  As a THANK YOU to YOU as readers, Heather has this to say:

SPONSOR SPOTLIGHT — Sweet Shoppe Designs

Spot Lit Wall

It was almost three years ago and I was sitting my my office, staring at a countdown timer on my computer screen. I (like many others!) was anxiously awaiting the opening of Sweet Shoppe Designs. I couldn’t wait to see what a group of designers I loved (and was already CTing for a few) had up their sleeves. I wasn’t disappointed. And for the past three years, Sweet Shoppe Designs has truly been a SWEET place to be. I served on CT’s for a number of designers and I did a six month term as a Sugarbabe.  I have always, always been impressed with the attention to detail that they put into everything they do.  So when I got the idea to offer one Sponsor Spotlight to a store — it was easy to talk to the oh-so-sweet gals over at Sweet Shoppe Designs. I am so glad to have them here with us this month! Before we look closer at some of the great things over at SSD, let’s see what they have for us in THE DIGI FILES. I asked them to have a CT member create a few quick pages and fab scrapper Jacq created these beauties!

Here is a little about Jacq: I’m a 26 year old mom to my adorable 2 year old daugther and a wife of 3 years to my wonderful husband. We’ve been leaving in Singapore for about 7 years now. I started scrapbooking in October 2005 and have never stopped since then. When I’m off the computer I spend my time with my family, I became a SAHM when I had my daughter so I can take care of her myself. I also like watching reality shows such as Amazing Race, American Idol and Survivor. I love Formula One Racing, Grey’s Anatomy, CSI and I’m a huge Twilight fan myself.

About her background as a quick page designer: I started making quickpages last year. I was asked by Christy Lyle if I could create a mini album for her using her kit and I said yes. It was my first time creating something like that and I loved it. From then on I started making quickpages for different designers and friends. HERE a link to all the QPs I’ve done. Right now I’m creating QPs and hybrid albums for Gina Miller Designs (you can checkout her store to see my projects there) and a designer at Pickleberrypop.

Sweet Shoppe Designs was an idea born out of friendship and commitment to one another’s designs. Our staff believes in a tight knit and supportive environment where each designer and creative team member are invested in each others success and have a say in the future of the site and what happens on a day to day basis. The designers at SSD truly believe in each other and the digital community as a whole and we are excited and proud to be celebrating 3 years of bringing high quality designs, inspiration and a sense of community to scrappers around the world.

We started with just 8 designers on opening day in February 2006, including Robin Carlton, MandaBean & Christy Lyle and have grown to an incredibly talented team of 21 designers who are like family. We’re incredibly proud of our store as a whole and think our whimsical and colorful style appeals to a wide range of scrappers who are looking to create pages which could be mistaken for paper layouts. We offer top quality kits which are jam packed with goodies so that even a novice digital artist has the ability to open a single folder and put together a gorgeous page every time they scrap. Each of our designers brings something special to the table, so you’re sure to find the perfect something to serve as the backdrop for your precious memories in our store.

Congratulations on 3 Sweet Years! How are you guys celebrating the big event?

We have so much planned for our month long celebration! Now through the 13th, when you spend $10 in our store, you’ll receive our gorgeous anniversary collaboration kit, Fresh and Festive, absolutely free! Here’s a peek…

In addition to lots of gorgeous new releases which are always 20% off on Saturdays, we also have daily birthday goody bags coming up, the first volume of the 2009 Quarterly Assortment to be released and a slew of brand new Two Scoops and Triple Dips (kits our designers have collaborated with each other on), which will be hitting the store on the 21st! We’ll be finishing off the month with a super sweet bounceback offer too so we hope your readers will visit us all month long and help us celebrate.

Along with our great promotions in the shoppe, we also have some great games and activities hosted by our team of designers too! Visit our special Sweet Celebrations forum in our community for lots of fun ways to win sweet stuff from our team!

What else is going on at SSD?

We are really excited by the success of our Challenge-A-Day format which we rolled out to our community earlier this year. Every single day, our amazing SugarBabes post a brand new challenge which we hope will inspire people to think outside the box when scrapping their memories! Sometimes our challenges will really push you to think artistically and emotionally and other times they are just a way for our community to grow closer together by answering silly quizzes, taking fun photographs which capture people’s personalities and much more! Even more exciting is that every challenge completed earns the participant one of our Sweet Rewards points which can ultimately add up to a 40% discount in the shoppe every single month!

You also won’t want to miss checking out our Treat of the Month feature where we get to know a talented member of the digital community a little better. We’ve put some amazing talent in the spotlight at SSD in the past and we have some great treats lined up in the future too. Visit the Sweet Shoppe now to meet this month’s treat, Amy Stoffel and keep your eyes on the Sweet Shoppe Blog a little later this month where you’ll be able to take our monthly TOTM quiz and be entered to win a $15 gift certificate to the shoppe too.

We hear you’re now offering incentives for scrappers to get their work published in magazines, can you tell us a little more about that?

Yes! Each day we look through our gallery at the Sweet Shoppe and are so inspired by the gorgeous pages created by our community – we certainly think they’re magazine worthy and we feel our community has lots to offer the scrapping world in terms of inspiration. We know that many scrappers are intimidated by the thought that they aren’t good enough to be published and we couldn’t disagree more so we decided to offer some encouragement in the form of cash & free gifts if people submit pages using our products and end up published in Creating Keepsakes, Scrapbooks, Etc., Memory Makers and more! Click here for more details on our publishing incentives.

Speaking of inspiration take a look at some of our favorite recent layouts & hybrid projects by the Sweet Shoppe SugarBabes

And the gorgeous layouts wouldn’t be possible without some fantastic kits to spark the inspiration. Check out some products which capture classic Sweet Shoppe Style…

So after the celebration is over, what can we look forward to at SSD?

Well, you know we always have something up our sleeve and coming this Spring, our entire team is tackling an incredible project that will bring you more inspiration than ever! While we don’t want to give too much away, we can say that it will be Simply Sweet and you won’t want to miss it! With that, the girls at the Sweet Shoppe would love to hear your Birthday Wishes so leave a comment and they’ll be choosing 3 lucky winners at random to win a $10 gift certificate to the Sweet Shoppe!

THANK YOU, SO MUCH, SWEET SHOPPE DESIGNS FOR BEING WITH US THIS MONTH! We love all the amazing stuff in your shop and we hope that you continue to fill such a sweet spot in our community!

P.S.  I just wanted to wish a huge congrats to RAJI, MANDY, AND CHARMAIN for winning the random draw from our weekend inspiration post. Thanks to everyone who got some scrapping done this weekend and showed us what they made!  Ladies, email me at janet AT thedailydigi DOT com for your $10 coupon to a sponsoring designers store!  WOO HOO!

SPONSOR SPOTLIGHT — Pineapple Plantation

Spot Lit Wall

Aloha, baby!  We are so excited to have PINEAPPLE PLANTATION DESIGNS with us this month.  Personally, I am really excited to have Shauna, the face behind the cool design name, with us this month because I got to learn of another great new-to-me designer!    Part of my goal in having the DIGI FILES every month is to show scrappers some designers they might not know about.  There are SO MANY great designers out there that we tend to get in a rut of using the same ones.  So, I was thrilled when Steph suggested PINEAPPLE PLANTATION.  I looked at her work and was excited to invite her.  She had gorgeous color palettes and fun designs.  She also has a large selection of commercial use items.  But before we get into all of that, let’s see what she created especially for THE DAILY DIGI!

Isn’t this mini kit SOOO pretty?  I love the rich colors and that red glitter alpha is amazing!  Also, she included a really cool overlay good for commercial and personal use.  So, if you wanted to try an overlay, here is a great way to do it!  You can grab this mini-kit as well as stuff from a bunch of other designers, all for just $5.  Grab it HERE.

Okay, let’s get to know Shauna a bit better!

Aloha! My name is Shauna Burke-Smith and I’m a proud Army wife and SAHM of three, Brittany 16, Emily 14 and Ethan 9.  After spending 7 years in Hawaii, the Army has recently moved us back to the mainland and to the (currently) VERY CHILLY state of New Jersey! While we all miss Hawaii, the family is enjoying living in Princeton and being so close much closer to our friends and family.

After paper scrapping for years, I finally took a Digital Scrapbooking class online and fell in love immediately!  As I began to learn Photoshop, and simply for the fun of it, I began creating freebies for my fellow classmates and started a blog!  After a couple of months I was asked to join a design team and 3 months after that I opened my own store (ScrapOrchard.com) with good friends Kami Leonard and Melissa Nishi… It’s been one of the most rewarding things I’ve ever done!

For just over a year now!

I WISH I were more of a scrapper! I would love to have more time to devote to it honestly, but with three kids, Scrap Orchard to run and my own designs to create I find less and less time to actually scrap 🙁

Well, honestly I probably spend 1-2 hours a day on my own personal design work, posting in the forums, blogging etc. But if you count the hours I spend as Design Team Lead and as an owner at Scrap Orchard you can probably triple that!

It seems like my favorite kit is always one of my last kits, so I’d have to say that currently my collaboration with Irene Alexeeva called Seaside Dreams!

My best selling product are easily my Overlays! I LOVE making them and I’m always getting requests for new ones!

  • Being married to my best friend… It’s the best!
  • Cuddling with my kids
  • Reading… I’m ALWAYS reading something on my Amazon Kindle!
  • My MacBook Pro – (seriously… I LOVE it!)
  • My Jack Russell Terrier, Kea
  • I know it sounds corny, but spending time with my friends and family… Can’t beat it!
  • Books by Stephanie Meyers
  • Laying on the beach
  • The sounds of a thunder storm
  • Watching Football (the Green Bay Packers to be specific!)
  • Traveling… Anywhere!

  • Rude, uptight or close-minded people
  • Deadlines (I sooo do not deal with deadlines well! LOL!)
  • That I can’t find Diet Dr. Pepper at ANY restaurants!
  • People who don’t get my sense of humor
  • Mornings… (need I say more?)
  • Great books that are made into bad movies…
  • Having to dress up… For ANY reason!
  • When my teenagers roll their eyes at me (that REALLY bugs me! LOL!)
  • Buying something at full price RIGHT before it goes on sale!
  • Skinny people who can eat anything they want (come on… Be honest… That bugs you too! 🙂

Let’s now take a look at some of Shauna’s gorgeous designs.  Whether her designs are her own or part of a collaboration, you can count on them being beautiful and easy to use!

Today we have the honor of spotlighting DesignHouseDigital designer AUDREY NEAL — of be Audacious Designs. Audrey is a talented designer, scrapper, and author.  I will always remember Audrey as the first person on my creative team.  I had only been designing templates for a week or two and she wrote me and asked me if I was looking for a team. I couldn’t believe that anyone would actually want to work with my stuff! Since that time, I have worked with Audrey on a number of projects including a special feature for DAM and for her amazing book, Paper and Pixels (see below).  Audrey’s designs are fun, fresh, and full of her gorgeous handwriting.  Just want until you see it all!  First, though, let’s see what Audrey created especially for this months DIGI FILES (available until February 14). You get this amazing set of WINTER WORD ART as well as contributions for 8 other designers/stores for just $5. I love this set of word art — SO pretty!   I especially love the quote, “No winter lasts forever, no spring skips its turn.”  I bet those of you currently buried in snow could print that one out and put it on your dashboard 🙂

alittleabout-copyI’m Audrey Neal, usually called Aud, and I design under the name beAUDacious designs at {we are} storytellers. I’ve been married to my husband Chris for almost 9 years, though we’ve been together for almost 14. We have two daughters: Cassidy is 12, and Cami is 7. We live in a small college town in western Kentucky, where I work fulltime for an educational grant at the university. Prior to that, I taught middle and high school English and K-12 Gifted Studies at a small rural school system.

STORE: be Audacious Designs at {we are} storytellers

BLOG: www.audneal.typepad.com

I essentially started because the more I learned about Photoshop and digital scrapbooking, the more I wanted to know. I liked being able to completely manipulate all aspects of my layouts and being to create certain items if I didn’t have them on hand.

I’ve been designing for almost 2 years now. I started with templates and handwritten word art, then gradually moved on to papers, elements, and full kits.

Both.  Although I’ve been doing much more hybrid scrapping than pure digi lately.  I use all of my products in my hybrid layouts!  I’m both a scrapper and a designer. I started paper scrapping in 2000, and I’ve been involved in just about every aspect of the industry available. I swore that I’d never turn to digital scrapping, but at this point, I really can’t imagine going back to paper.

I spend at least 2-3 hours per day on designing or other work related to it — answering emails, checking forums and galleries, blogging, advertising, and more.

My favorite product to date is my WORD 2009. WORD stands for “write. observe. reflect. daily.” and it’s a simple way to create a place and a time for recording stories that matter. It’s a monthly project, and each month features a certain word and a theme. For example, January’s word was “invite” and all the prompts dealt with the theme of “self.” It’s a downloadable file that gives you a .pdf file that you can print on any printer — you end up with a daily journaling page and plenty of room to write, plus prompts for writing, taking pictures, and creating layouts. You also get access to a fantastic kit each month. The whole concept of storytelling is really important to me, and it’s why I  joined  {we are} storytellers. I think that making time to write each day — even if it’s just something short, a list of certain items, for example — is vital to learning to remember and create layouts where the words and the photos combine to create layouts that really matter.

My best-selling product would probably be my Daily Birdie font. It’s just my ordinary everyday handwriting, and it’s kind of funny to see it turning up on layouts all over the place. My word art packs always sell very well, too. I guess those things — anything involving my own handwriting — are my signature products, you could say.

* playing trivia games with Cassidy
* books — I have piles and piles of them in my house, and I love to visit bookstores
* seeing my favorite musicians live in concert
* snuggling with Cami right before bed
* how my head fits perfectly right in the hollow of Chris’s neck
* finding cool stuff at the thrift store or flea market, especially vintage cameras, embroidered aprons, old vases and teapots, and neat frames
* the smell of honey and orange blossoms — I have this hand soap that I’m in love with right now!
* wandering around new places on foot with my camera in hand, either by myself or with Chris
* camping — I want to take a couple of camping trips to the mountains this year
* sleeping when it is raining outside

* when the toilet paper isn’t put on the dispenser the right way — the paper is supposed to come over the top, not from the bottom
* the word “moist” totally grosses me out
* the lack of any really decent radio stations around here
* when my husband leaves the cabinet doors and kitchen drawers open instead of closing them
* that I’m not very good with money (okay, I have the spending part down just fine, but need lots of help with the saving part)
* people who insist on turning left out of the school parking lot even though the sign specifically says not to (I deal with this every morning and it irritates me to no end)
* when restaurants have Pepsi instead of Coke
* that it’s winter so I can’t ride my bike every day
* that when I order a plain hamburger at Wendy’s, the invariably ask if I want cheese on it
* having to ask or tell the girls to do something over and over — but isn’t that just part of being a mom? 😉

Now let’s take a look at some of Audrey’s other creations  I love the mix of things she has in her shop — kits, fonts, journaling classes, and more!

Thanks, Audrey, for being a part of THE DAILY DIGI this month.  Your designs are amazing and I can see why everyone wants to have your DAILY BIRDIE font.  What amazing handwriting you have — I am totally envious!  We are glad to have you a part of this months sponsors.  Can’t wait to see what you come up with next!

And thanks for this great coupon just for THE DAILY DIGI readers!

P.S.  I want to wish a HUGE congrats to Gina for being our random winner of the WHAT’S IN A NAME CHALLENGE. She did this layout about her son’s name. I love it!

But hurry!  This listing ends February 12.  Normally her letters are sold in various high end baby boutiques for twice the price 🙂

THE DAILY DIGI is thrilled to have Jen Caputo with us this month!  Jen is the original template queen and seriously talented scrapper and crafter.  Over the years she has been heavily involved in the paper scrapping and digital scrapbooking communities, has served on tons of creative teams, has been published multiple times, has worked with Jessica Sprague on some special projects for Creating Keepsakes, and has been selling templates and other scrapping-helps…all the while working a full time job and doing some serious vacationing!  I have had to privilege of meeting Jen on a number of occasions and every time we have a blast. Even my kids love her!

Before we get a chance to know Jen a bit better, let’s take a look at the INCREDIBLE product she included in THE DIGI FILES.  Oh my!  This product alone is well worth the $5 (in fact, she originally told me it will probably go into her shop for around $10).  Jen created this really, REALLY cool hybrid Weight Loss Journal.

This journal is perfect for keeping track of your weight loss goals, progress, and more.  It has a 15 page pdf file with detailed instructions and photos!  It is filled with tracking sheets, recipe pages, shopping lists, and food lists, as well as pages for photos to show your progress and tabs for each month.  I LOVE this idea and totally plan on making one.  When I first did weight watchers, I remember scribbling my measurements and weights on scrap pieces of paper, never being able to find them.  What a great way to motivate yourself to stay on track!

Let’s get to know Jen!

I’m Jen Caputo and I live in Arlington Heights, IL (just outside of Chicago).  I grew up in Dearborn, MI and graduated from engineering school with a BS in Computer Engineering from the University of Michigan in 2002.  I live with my boyfriend of 7 years (Adam) and 2 cats (Kitty and Mr. Meowmers). I love good beer 🙂

STORE: Studio Jen at Scrapbook Graphics

BLOG: www.jencaputo.tpepad.com

I started creating sketch templates for myself when I wasn’t in the mood to scrap. After months of giving away my templates on my blog and trying to teach people how to use them and what they were to begin with, I managed to get myself a pretty loyal following of people who kept telling me I should sell them.    I took a chance and applied to Holly McCaig’s Plain Digital Wrapper as a template only designer (of which I believe I was the very first!)

The summer of 2006 is when I actually started selling (at the original Plain Digital Wrapper), I’d been designing templates and giving them away on my blog for a few months before that.  I’ve been at Scrapbook Graphics since March of 2007.

Both.  Although I’ve been doing much more hybrid scrapping than pure digi lately.  I use all of my products in my hybrid layouts!

Not nearly enough.  A year ago I would say probably 4 hours a day (and that was in addition to my full time job) but after buying my first house my designing/marketing time has gone way down hill so now I’m lucky if I get 4 hours a week.

My photo grid templates. I love the look a grid gives to a page and these make it super easy to print my pictures all at once for my hybrid layouts.

Text Paths Collection #1.  They are linked from Creating Keepsakes website and Jessica Sprague mentions them in one of her books so even 2 years after designing them I still sell one at least once a day.  It’s pretty crazy.

Currently though, my latest product — 365 Templates are selling like hotcakes. Fast than any of my template collections to date (it’s kind of a really good deal)

1. Adam
2. Beer
3. Lost

8. wine snobs (not wine drinkers, i like wine too, i just don’t like when people think wine is so superior to beer)
9. Chicago winters
10. The current economic crisis

There are no words to describe the talent of today’s SPONSOR SPOTLIGHT.  Vera Lim is just amazing.  Every time I see one of her kits I am in awe.  They just flow with beauty and gracefulness and  I am literally scared to scrap with them.  I am afraid that I will lessen the beauty of what she has created, and that just doesn’t seem right.  However, after spending lots of time looking through her store I just know I can’t stay away forever.  Before I show you some of the beauty I found, let’s take a peek at her contribution to this months DIGI FILES.

Such a sweet little mini kit with her typical gorgeous papers and realistic elements! I can’t wait to get a chance to play with it!  You can grab this mini kit and other products from Shabby Miss Jenn, Flergs, Melissa Bennett, Jen Caputo, Audrey Neal, Pineapple Plantation, Sweet Shoppe Designs, and Heather Ann Melzer , all for just $5.00 in the DIGI FILES no. 1.

Around 4 years now

Both. I might not have time to do as many layouts as I want…but when I do have time, I love to create layouts, projects and even paper layouts.

Around 30-40 hours, depending on the number of projects I need to finish.

We are THRILLED to have Melissa Bennet with us this month at THE DAILY DIGI! Melissa’s fun designs and great color palettes are a treat.  Check out what she created for this months THE DIGI FILES!

So pretty!  I LOVE the realistic paper flowers and the big red clip! What a fun little mini Valentine’s kit!  You can pick it up (with LOTS of other stuff!) right HERE for just $5.

We can’t wait to show you some of her other work, but first, let’s get to know her a bit better!  I changed up the format a bit for easier reading and linkable information.  Let me know what you think!

NAME: Melissa Bennett

FAMILY:  I have been married 17 years to my wonderful hubby Walter and we have 3 beautiful children we were blessed to be able to adopt.

STORE: Melissa Bennett Designs and Sweet Shoppe Designs

BLOG: www.melissabennett.blogspot.com

I started designing right after I tried digital scrapbooking. I swore I would never go digital as I loved paper scrapping. I used to do web graphics and knew right away I wanted to try my hand at designing kits.

Just a little over 2 years now

I consider myself both, but I don’t set aside enough time to scrap for myself.

I would say anywhere from 30 – 40 hours a week. I really try to treat it as a real job.

My kit Dear Santa is my favorite. I really enjoy creating Christmas kits the most and usually do several each year.

My Christmas kits are my best sellers. I sell them year round.

Now let’s see some of Melissa’s fabulous designs.  Her stores are so full of color and fun that it was hard to choose!

JUST MY TY is a tribute to Melissa’s son.  I love all the bring and fun colors and patterns.   I have so much trouble finding boy kits I like so I am LOVING this!

BALLPARK is such a great sports kit!  I love all the deep rich colors and the worn feel of the pages.

ATOMIC BOUNCE is such a fun and happy girl kit! And that tree and birdie are JUST TOO CUTE!

This gorgeous kit called FALL OUT is so full of the prettiest papers!  The bright colors and fun elements would work for any kind of page!

What a fun kit to scrap away the winter blues?  Brrrrr is just the right mix of chilly colors and cute elements!

Melissa is also known for her huge selection of quick pages! Many of her kits have corresponding quick pages which is great when you are making gift albums or just trying to scrap in a hurry!  I love this one that is made with her DEAR SANTA kit.

And, just to get you inspired, here are some pages I found in the galleries using Melissa’s stuff!

Thank you, Melissa, SO MUCH for being a part of THE DAILY DIGI this month!  We love what you have created and can’t wait to see more of your designs in the future!

Today we get the honor of spotlighting a fabulous designer…known and loved my many… FLERGS.  Flergs (aka the glitter queen) sells at Scrapbook Graphics.  She is known for her fun kits, gorgeous glitter, and her designer resources.  We are so excited to have her with THE DAILY DIGI this month!  Before we get to know her a bit more, let’s peek at what she contributed to this month’s THE DIGI FILES.

Isn’t it fun?  I love the mix of colors…it is obviously “boyish” but with the greens and cream it could easily be used for a girl, too. I also LOVE that it comes with a full, neutral-colored alpha.  I am such a sucker for alphas that I can use on lots of different pages! It also has a set of glitter so if you have been curious about trying styles, here is your chance.  I tried it and it was much easier (and much cooler!) than I thought it would be.   You can pick up this mini kit, along with LOTS of other stuff, right HERE.

Alrighty, let’s get to know Flergs a bit better!

Flergs and I used to work together at Scrapbook Graphics and I always loved her happy and carefree attitude.  She is one of those people who always seems like she is having fun and making everyone around her smile.  I hope you have enjoyed a peek into who she is as a designer.  Now, let’s look at some of the FABULOUS things this lady has made.

First of all is this AMAZING and brand new collab with Tangie, also at SBG.  It is called 17 CHERRY TREE LANE and I just LOVE it!  So bright and cheerful.

She also has to soft and gorgeous collab with Sugarplum Paperie called FIRST KISS OF SPRING.  I just love the soft feel of it and can envision spring pages or pages of my baby girls!

And, since we seem to be on a collab roll, how about this super fun one with Mgl scraps called SQUEEEE! I just adore the little birdies and flowers!

And if that hasn’t inspired you, check out some amazing LO’s I found using stuff from Flergs!

Flergs, being the sweet gal that she is, has a special coupon for our DAILY DIGI readers.  So have fun and go shopping!

Thanks, Megan, for being a part of THE DAILY DIGI this month.  Your mini-kit TROUBLEMAKER is so great and I have loved getting to show off your designs!  Hope you have enjoyed your day in the spotlight!

P.S.  Remember that you have until until 12:01 am EST on January 23 to purchase THE DIGI FILES for your chance to win one of the Lisa Leonard necklaces, the tutu from Frill er Up, the camera strap cover from Baubles and Bits, the camera strap from Cotton Candy, and the $10 coupons from this month’s sponsors.  I can’t wait to see who the lucky winners are! For pictures of the cool prizes, see the DIGI FILE post right HERE.

Welcome to our first SPONSOR SPOTLIGHT where we are featuring the talented SHABBY MISS JENN of SHABBY MISS JENN DESIGNS!  All month long we will be showcasing the amazing talent of our contributing sponsors. We want to show you all the great stuff they have as well as let you get to know them a bit! They are a fabulous group of designers and we know you will be inspired after seeing their work and getting a peek into their lives.

But first, since we know some of you are just itching to see inside the DIGI FILES, here is what the fabulous SHABBY MISS JENN designed exclusively for THE DAILY DIGI.

Isn’t it exquisite?  I just love SMJ and everything she creates! When I saw this I had to scrap with it right away! You can get this kit along with a ton more in this months THE DIGI FILES right here.

I will be showing  you some more of of my favorite stuff of SMJ’s but first let’s get to know her a bit better!

And now to show you some of her totally fantastic designs.  I was browsing around her store and was struck with two things:

1. There is some stuff of hers that I MUST have NOW (oh my dear paypal!)
2. It is almost impossible to pick a favorite.

However, since showing you EVERYTHING of hers is rather pointless since you could just go to her shop, I have limited my showcase to just a few of my all-time favorite and most used kits:

SMJ also has a bunch of amazing blog packs! They come with a banner, banner for a photo, 3 background images, picture frame, border divider, journal mat, tab buttons with text and blank tab buttons. Banners and graphics can easily be sized down.

They also come with FULL instructions for Typepad and Blogspot blogs with screenshots and codes attached. So it’s very easy to follow along and make your blog in an instant. Video tutorials on blog installations can be viewed here.

And this just in….look at these FABULOUS new releases from SMJ!

I just want to say a huge THANK YOU to Shabby Miss Jenn for being a part of this months sponsoring designers!

P.S.  I’ve added the fan blinkie and flair piece over to our FAQ page.  Feel free to grab them there!

P.P. S
.  A number of people commented and emailed that they would like to switch from IE to Firefox but don’t want to have to rebookmark everything.  Well, there is good news.  It is EASY to import your bookmarks (or so I have heard!)

Firefox includes an Import Wizard that can be accessed via “File -> Import”. You can use the Firefox Import Wizard to automatically import bookmarks and other data from installed browsers such as Internet Explorer, Opera, and Netscape 6-7-Mozilla Suite (which includes SeaMonkey 1.x).

If for some reason that does not work, follow the instructions listed HERE.

P.P.P.S. We’ve added some stuff to our LOOKING FOR PAGE…check it out!

P.P.P.P.S. I got the coolest PM the other day — SUPERTWINKLE, the master behind the infamous ’08 layout is GIVING AWAY HER TEMPLATE. Woo Hoo!  You can get it HERE.

P.P.P.P.P.S. According to this article, I have poor form.  I should have included these notes in the main section of my entry 🙂
