I’m so happy to be welcoming back Danielle to The Digi Files this month! Danielle has a wide style of designs that she does very well. She seems to have a minimal-shabby style that makes scrapping with her products easy and fun! Our team really enjoyed the non-traditional colors of Danielle’s contribution and used it for more than just Christmas themed layouts. Let’s take a closer look at “Merry & Bright” that is included in
The Digi Files this month:

I’m Danielle Young, and I live in Georgia with my husband, infant son and two Labrador Retrievers. I’m a Christian, a full-time graphic designer, an amateur cook, and a youth group leader at church, who loves to spend time with my family!
After my son was born in January, I was inspired to create a kit and layout all about him. I called the collection Launch Party. I also have a Project Life album that I keep as his baby book with lots of journaling and memory-keeping, so this was simply a creative outlet… a ‘just-for-fun!’
I was a paper scrapper first – since grade school really – then, in college I got serious about paper scrapbooking while I was getting a degree in Industrial Design. Part of my course work was learning Photoshop and Illustrator. After graduation, I started my career as a graphic designer and merged my two passions. Scrapbooking + my beloved graphics programs!
Color! I love to find a perfect color palette and just run with it.
Computer: I use a MacBook Pro 15″ as my main machine. I usually do my designing while relaxing on the sofa!
Program: I use both Illustrator and Photoshop primarily. CS4
Camera: Our family has a Canon EOS 450D, but most of the time you’ll find me snapping on my iphone instead.
Anything Else: I use an iPad 2 for the light surfing… Pinterest, Facebook, Instagram, etc.
I do my best to remember and follow this one.
In all creative outlets, let your art (whether that’s a scrapbook layout, a photograph or a page kit) be inspired and pure. Don’t force something that just isn’t working. Take a break, and try again later.
My Launch Party kit was the first kit I created after my son was born earlier this year. His birth was the beginning of a huge chapter of my life. My husband and I were so ready to “get this party (of parenthood) started!” I wanted to create something boyish, and… ready to launch!
I hosted a custom kit contest, and Lil Graduate was the result of that contest. Primary colors, and elements for YOUNG graduates. I incorporated these illustrated balloons, owls and other embellishments to keep it really playful
