Brave Girl

Today is my daughter and her husband’s first anniversary and I was feeling very sentimental this morning as I looked through the pictures from that day. This picture touches my heart so much as I see the joy on my daughter’s face as she entered the church and saw her soon-to-be husband for the first time that day. I guess my tip is to not be afraid to go back and scrapbook moments that make your heart sing, even if you (maybe) have already used the picture.

I have very few photos with pink, but I loved the ocean blues and pop of yellow in this kit that worked perfectly for my daughter’s very brave foray into California surf in March! The word art was perfect! In PSE, I used the Magic Wand and selected the letters from the journaling card that I wanted to use. Then I overlayed a plain yellow paper and clipped them together. I replaced the blue and pink flowers from the journaling card, with flowers and a globe from the kit. Love how it turned out and can’t wait to get it printed and send it as a surprise to her in the mail!

I knew I wanted to make this photo greyscale, but when I did, the black really overpowered the blue tones. So I added a layer immediately above the photo and filled it with the teal blue color. I set the blending mode to color, lowered the opacity and clipped the layer to the photo. Now the photo blends into the page nicely.
