Make It Bloom

To tie in more pink to accompany the paper cut out heart, I used the pink camera stamp and a pink background paper, just peeking out below the top layer. Even though the photos contain a lot of black and turquoise, blue and green, the pops of pink keep it cheerful and feeling like spring.

The blue flowers and the striped paper make a nice visual triangle that leads your eye through the layout but I wanted just a bit more blue. I added an additional layer under the white layer, just a tiny bit bigger. The dash of blue seemed to complete my layout.

Go Outside

I loved the “wild spirit” word art for this page, but needed to alter it to fit school spirit days. I erased the “wild” and then in PSE recolored it by going to Enhance>Adjust Color>Adjust Hue/Saturation and played with the sliders until it was the color green to match the paint stamp alpha that came with the kit.

When layering papers, it’s good to consider placing patterns that contrast on top of each other, so as to prevent everything from becoming just a major jumble.

I wanted to stretch out the ribbon I used on this page so I used the rectangle marque to select pieces of the ribbon and move them behind the pictures. I placed the ribbon behind the big picture on the left and then drew a rectangle around it, selecting all I could see and close to the left side of the picture. Then I clicked the move tool and dragged the ribbon behind more of the pictures. I repeated the process until the ribbon was all across my layout.
