Talk about cute! Jen Yurko is with us this month and her kit, Foxy Fall, is beyond adorable! I love the hand drawn elements and the papers are so rich in texture and deep colors. The arty papers are gorgeous and the templates make the scrapping quick and easy. I love it! All your fall photos will be a perfect fit with this kit. Let’s look inside!

Not really but that’s where we lived when my Dad retired from the Navy, and my parents still live there, so I call it my hometown. I’m currently living outside of Hunstville, AL in Madison. We just moved here this past July and, hopefully, we are here for quite some time! The husband and I have 7 kids between us – 4 mine, 2 his, and 1 ours… ages 13-25yrs… and a daughter-in-law to boot (gosh I’m old…). We also have a dog and a cat ♥ I love my Netflix & HBO Now apps as well as the CW, AMC and BBC channels on TV. I watch a LOT of shows, hehehe!
I love the way the photo treatment turned out and wanted to scrap just my cat’s eyes. I thought it would be cool. I am in love with the way that particular kit turned out and scrapped several pages with it, but this one is my favorite out of them all.
I started paper scrapping when I had my first kid 25 years ago. I let it all go after the second one was born and the first one was using all my supplies to cut his own hair, glue things to the fridge, color on the walls, etc. In 2003, I picked it back up again to document our lives while my husband was deployed overseas, but after child #3 cut her own hair with child #4’s help, I put it all away again. Somewhere around 2008 (maybe even earlier?), I discovered PSP and started making animated signature tags for people to use on forums & I stumbled across digiscrapping along the way. I fell in love immediately and started scrapping our photos again. I started with free kits and found that a lot of them didn’t have what I wanted or needed to finish my pages, so I began making my own elements & papers. In March of 2009, I was hired as a designer at Inspiration Lane and have been designing and scrapping ever since!
My photos, friends’ photos, requests, color palettes, you name it!
Computer: I have a Lenovo desktop computer running Windows 10 64 bit, with 6GB RAM and 1TB storage. I only have one monitor connected, but would like to get at least 1 more hooked up – something for further down the road!
I also have a Lenovo laptop, also running on Windows 10 64 bit, with 4GB RAM and 1TB storage.
Program: I mostly use Photoshop CC, Illustrator CS4, and Lightroom, but I also have Photoshop CS2, Illustrator CS2, Photoshop Elements 13, and Artisan 4 at my disposal as well. It just depends on which computer I’m using. For online backup, I use (and highly recommend!) Backblaze.
Camera: I just use the camera on my Samsung Galaxy. I have a Nikon Coolpix camera, but it intimidates me (I know, it’s sad) and my Galaxy is always handy.
Anything Else: For drawing, I use a Wacom Bamboo tablet. It’s one of the cheaper, piddly models that is probably way out of date by now, LOL, but it serves its purpose. One day down the road, I hope to get an Intuos.
I don’t think I have a favorite tip or trick, lol. However, I will say that I have several tutorials on my blog and am adding to that category every month – feel free to check it out any time 🙂
I also take tutorial requests, so if there’s something anyone is just dying to know, my email is open
I have several favorites in my store right now but this one stands out the most for me. It was a lot of fun to doodle for it and even more fun creating the collection – and it’s huge! I have a lot of photos of my kids at the aquarium, at the beach, at the water park, in the pool… no matter what state we found ourselves in, every summer we hit up the local attractions. I wanted a collection that fairly versatile for our summer happenings and could use over and over again.
My most popular product has been Jitterbug, which was a Pickle Barrel project this year. The colors are fun and they made me think of the 50s, and then the song “Jitterbug” by WHAM! which led to the buggy theme. Yes, I know, that’s, like, 3 shades of sideways, but hey, I can’t help it LOL
