Time Capsule

It’s amazing how quickly our favorite things and routines can change. Taking time to scrap about the “here and now” is a great way to remember the changing seasons of life. We’re thrilled to have Tickled Pink Studios with us this month and Becca’s Time Capsule kit is just perfect to record life right now. Your future self will thank you!

This is ONE of SEVEN collections you get when you become a member of
The Digi Game this month. You also get an interactive Playbook (in PDF and iBooks formats) that has lots of ideas for using the supplies including techniques, tips, and tricks! All of that, including access to exclusive collaborations every four months you are a member, for only $7.50 total per month! Here are some layouts created using Tickled Pink Studio’s contribution:

I live in southern Illinois with my husband Phillip and three kids Austin, Ethan and Savannah. We spend a lot of time enjoying the beautiful outdoors that southern Illinois has to offer.

Before becoming a WAHM, I was a correctional officer for the State of Illinois for almost 8 years. I love getting crafty and enjoy typography, graphic design, getting comfy with a good book and just surrounding myself with beautiful color.

After making my One More Episode kit I just had to scrap a page with it. I have really become addicted to the show Bates Motel and wanted to capture a current love of mine. This page was created solely with my One More Episode kit.

That is one of the amazing things about scrapbooking, we can scrap ANYTHING. From our loved ones to things we love. From big celebrations to the everyday, it all is a part of who we are.

I started digital scrapbooking in 2008. Crazy when I think that has been 7 years ago this year!

In 2010 I decided to try my hand at digital scrapbook design with a little push from my friends Sara Gleason and Crystal Livesay. I applied to the Apprentice program at Little Dreamer Designs and was accepted into their program. I learned a lot and enjoyed working with Michelle Coleman. After the program was over, I join the team at Little Dreamer. This officially started my career as a digital scrapbook designer.

Inspiration is all around me. I get inspiration from anything from a magazine to clothing . I really love color, pattern and typography. I have always been a huge fan of color and typography but surface pattern has become a new addiction of mine. From drooling at patterns on Pinterest to making my own.

Computer: Windows 8 on a Dell XPS 8700 with 24GB RAM and a solid state drive.

Program: I still use PSCS4. I mainly use Photoshop and Illustrator in the suite. I think I might finally give in and upgrade to CC.

Camera: I have a Canon DSLR and also use my iPhone for a lot of my pictures.

Anything Else: I have a Wacom tablet but still find myself writing and drawing with the mouse.

This is one that has been on my mind lately with having run into my own creative blocks. I know as both a designer and scrapbooker we all have those times where our mojo seems to take a vacation. It can be so frustrating and sometimes you wonder if it will come back.

I have learned a few tricks to help spark that creativity again from listening to music, visiting galleries, and trying a new challenge. The main thing that seems to work for me is stepping away. Sometimes we just need some new scenery to look at. Stepping away from the screen and doing anything from some housework or another hobby can help recharge your creativity.

My current favorite is a more recent kit called One More Episode. I am a terrible binge-watcher with Netflix and I just had to make a kit about it. I know I am not alone and thought fellow binge-watchers would appreciate the humor in it. I find myself constantly saying “just one more episode”.

A lot of my Pocket Starts sets are popular. I am going with Explore here but I am not sure I can pin down just one so I am going sneak in to stay all of them from the single packs to the big collections haha.

I wanted to do something people could use for everyday life. Something that was more universal and didn’t focus on a certain season or holiday. That way everyone can use it. The Pocket Start series has everything in it to create hybrid or digital pocket pages.

Each collection features a broad theme and has fresh colors. I really enjoy making these. No 2 cards are alike, and there are A LOT of cards in these sets haha.
