BIO: My name is Cheryl Ashcraft and I’m a native Floridian living in Northwest Florida on the Gulf Coast. My husband Jay and I have been married for over twenty years. We have two children, Olivia and Daniel.I love to scrapbook digitally, and I also create digital templates for scrapbookers. When I’m not taking pictures, scrapbooking, or designing templates, you’ll find me tending to my home. I love to decorate and keep a quiet and tranquil space for us to have as a retreat. I also love to make pen and ink drawings, and have started experimenting with watercolors. I love to read so you’ll usually find me on my phone or Kindle or with an old school book, and every once in a while I’ll still break out my cross stitching.
5 PRODUCTS I CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT:
- Paint . . . splatters, drips, watercolor smears . . . all of it I love!
- Word strips.
- Word art. Makes titling my page so easy.
- Flowers and leaves.
- Arrows, chevrons, and other directional elements.
MY STYLE: Messy yet clean, excessive yet controlled. I’m not sure if there is a name for that.
MY SCRAPPING IDOL(S): I’m really inspired by so many different scrappers that I can’t list just one. And I have to say that I don’t really have an idol anymore. I think I’ve gotten to the point where I love enjoying the beauty of other layouts, but I no longer look at a single scrapper’s layouts and think, gee, I wish I could scrap like that. And believe me, there were many, many years when I did have idols. I’m in a season where I’m comfortable and content with what I create.
WHY I AM EXCITED TO BE ON THE TEAM: I have been a subscriber for a long time, as well as a contributor to The Digi Files. I’m always inspired by the layouts and numerous articles to help scrappers learn and grow. I am excited to be on the team because I would love to give back to the community.
MY FAVORITE LAYOUT: This is my favorite layout for 2015 (so far anyway). First, it has my cat, and awww, I want to squishy her. Second, I love all the word strips. Third, and final, it’s clean but a bit messy too with paint splatters and drips.
