Title Trick: Word Strips

Title Trick: Word Strips

I’ve been a digi scrapper for ages and ages. Even still, adding titles to pages doesn’t come easily to me. Usually I just use word art. Sometimes I skip titles altogether.

For the page below, the kit I used didn’t include an alpha and none of the word art worked as the main title of my page. I was searching my digi stash for an alpha that would work with the kit when I realized that adding a title was as simple as creating a word strip!

Supplies: #youaremyfavorite Collection by Studio Basic, borrowed shapes for clipping from Adventure Awaits template by Two Tiny Turtles

It’s very easy to do! Just type a title in the font of your choice:

Then use the shape tool to add a rectangle behind the text. Shadow the rectangle using your favourite shadow settings.

Clip a paper to the white box and add it to your layout. (Or do what I do and just create the word strip on the layout itself.) You can also decorate the word strip with shapes like triangles or little strips of paper. Check out DIY Word Art Strips for some ideas.

Sometimes the best solutions are the simplest. Word strips for the win!
