It’s time for the mid-year check in on our annual projects! Can you believe that it’s June already? This year I’m continuing my pocket album. Since I last checked in with you in March, I’ve made these pages:
(This one should say Week 13 – but I didn’t fix it until after I already had made the web-sized version…)
My project has been going pretty well! I’ve been good about using my dSLR more often, but I find myself drawn to in-the-moment pictures taken with my iPhone. I especially love the photos my kids take with the photo booth app Incredibooth. They’re so casual and goofy and I love to see the shots that they take themselves.
You can see that I am about a month “behind” in my project. I have lots of photos though and I can rely on Facebook, emails, texts, the calendar, and apps like Momento to help me fill in details for each week. I’m hopeful that I’ll find some time over the summer holidays to catch up on my memory-keeping.
In terms of style, I’ve been working with more regular kits and less often with specific pocket products. I tend to gravitate towards brighter, bolder colours for my pocket albums and I like to just play with papers, making my own journal cards by layering different journal spot shapes. It’s fun to play with products and transform them to work with pocket pages. I also like using “helper” products like collage makers and layered journal card templates.
So, we’re half-way through the year, and I am still certain that pocket scrapbooking is my favourite form of memory-keeping!
How is your project going?
