When we visit a theme park or a fair, we tend to take a lot of photos and the challenge of scrapping the event can be overwhelming! I know have struggled with this in my own scrapbooking. I wanted to put together some useful tips, so when you come back from having a good time with the people you love, you will be ready to SCRAP (these are all things that are shown in the sample layouts above and below)!
- Janet has some great tips in this post about scrapping big events.
- Give yourself permission to delete photos.
- Allow yourself to create just one or two, two-page spreads about the event.
- Make a list if the things you remember most from the trip and scrap those (be sure to ask for input from others that were there with you) and don’t worry about the rest.
- Grab high resolution photos of things you may have missed from photo sharing sites who state in their TOU that they permit it (photobucket is one and they have download/share buttons on the images). For WDW, Heather Lord shared this site on her blog. (see my Nemo layout below).
- Check out this Flickr Disney Digital Scrapbooking group for inspiration.
- Check out familybees’ Flickr gallery for some awesome inspiration (I found her Disney layouts when she posted them to The Daily Digi Flickr Group).
- Make Kim’s TRAVEL JOURNAL before you go (it should only take a couple of hours to put together, less if you use the printable version) and then use that as your guideline for what to scrap after you come home.
- A reader added this resource in the comments to this post, but I don’t want you to miss it! MouseScrappers is a site dedicated to scrapbooking Disney vacations. They have a lot of resources and ideas!

Supply Ideas:
I went all over digiland and found some awesome products for you to use! Some of these were chosen based on color, not theme (I do that a lot). It’s always good to keep your mind and options open when looking at a kit! If I missed one of your favorites, feel free to link us up the comments!

Lots of the items in the MAY BYOC at THE LILYPAD this month would work. Here are a couple:

I hope that helps give you some ideas and inspiration! Have fun scrapping these memorable excursions!!

By any chance did you see any kits that would go with a Sesame Street theme?
That must have taken a lot of time posting all those great kits! Thank you!!!
Sunny days by Traci Reed works if you are traveling to Sesame Place….
Thanks for all those great kit ideas for scrapping theme parks, etc… I’m in love with a lot of them!!!
You missed my favorite Disney designer, I couldn’t scrap without Britt!

I tend to use a lot of photos on my vacation photos and it’s hard to find layouts with more than 3 photos. Any tips?
Janet Philips has a lot of Many photo templates out there…
Great ideas for scrapping our fun vacations and fairs. I loved all the kits you found. Thanks for your hard work.
Oh my goodness…there are some really creative people out there in digi.
I loved every ounce of eye candy in this post
Thanks so much for featuring my Disney pages!
I love seeing all the different layouts and colorful kits! I added a few to my wishlist (I like using Amazon’s universal wish list button – I have a separate “scrapbooking wish list” that I add kits to all the time). I love the You’ve Got a Friend Bundle. I may have to try to get some pictures when we go see Toy Story 3 this summer and do a page about it (just so I can use that cute kit)!
Anyone scrapping Disney-related trips will enjoy checking out tips and galleries at MouseScrappers.

Also in their forums, there are very specific threads organized by park, and even by each area (“land”) of the parks, providing specific inspiration for any particular part of the trip you might need help with. There are also threads with links to Disney-like fonts, and other ideas.
AWESOME, AWESOME resource!!! Thanks so much for sharing! I’m going to add the link to the main body of the post as well!
Even with permission I still have trouble deleting photos! lol Thank goodness for EHD’s! Wonderful tips and product review!
I KNOW! It takes everything I have to delete. I would almost rather just put the photos I WANT to scrap in their own folder and leave everything else “just in case”
Wow! Look at all these great kits!! I really should pull out our Disney photos and do something amazing with them!! Thanks for the inspiration!
What an amazing resource list of products for projects like this! Thank you for doing so much leg work for the rest of us. Also thanks for reminding us about ways to capture these events. I can never be reminded enough that I don’t have to document every detail of our dream vacation.
Also, one of the layout credits mentioned a kit called Funland by Dani Mogstad, but when I searched it, Sweet Shoppe said it was not available at this time. Does that mean it’s retired and no longer available at all? Thanks.
I didn’t realize that kit wasn’t available anymore
I emailed Dani to see if we can get it back and will keep you posted!
It could be available at The Lilypad as it was a collab with Jacque Larsen!
