This is No April Fools Day

Many of you will remember that back in April I pulled an April Fool’s Day prank.  I said that because of time commitments, family, etc. that I would be leaving THE DAILY DIGI.  It was quite humorous, especially as I got all nervous writing the post, trying to imagine if what I was saying was really true.  The post was met with many comments and I successfully pulled off my first April Fool’s Day prank! Well, today, it is not April Fool’s.

Do to some various personal and family issues, I have decided that I need to end my commitment with THE DAILY DIGI.  This site, birthed from my own dreams and desires for the digi world, has been such a blessing in my life.  I have loved it, nurtured it, and given it my heart.  However, I have four little people who need my heart more than the digi world does and I am going against what I want to do to do what I need to do.

As of January 1, 2010, I will no longer own and operate THE DAILY DIGI.  However, the site WILL go on!  Steph, who has been part of the site from the very beginning, is being passed the baton and will continue to run THE DAILY DIGI with the vision I originally had for it.  Life as you know it — for our wonderful readers — will continue on as normal.  The site will still be bringing you great sponsoring designers, an amazing DIGI FILES each month, and tons of inspiring and informative posts to make you the best scrapper you can be.

And no fear, I will still be around!  I will remain a part of the team here at THE DAILY DIGI, enjoying sharing layouts, writing some posts, and offering inspiration.  I love this site and I can’t wait to be its biggest cheerleader!  I have the utmost confidence in Steph to carry on the dreams of my heart while I happily scrap from the sidelines.

Janet and I (Steph) have worked very closely together for almost a year and I will say that I am very sad that our working relationship will be changing.  However, I am happy for her, because I know she is following her heart.  I am also very happy that I will be able to continue with The Daily Digi and the vision Janet and I had for the site from the beginning.  Most of the work I do for TDD is behind the scenes; coordinating sponsors, customer service, organizing the CT, and store/site admin stuff.  I will continue with all of those roles, plus I will be taking on a few more.  Katie (a.k.a. KatieTheScrapbookLady), who has been posting on Fridays, has agreed to help me by doing a few posts a week.  We will also be adding in some other guests along with Janet, a few times a month.  I am so glad that Janet will be staying on the team and still involved in TDD, though it will be less than it was before, it will still give me the excuse to IM with her on a regular basis! ;)

Janet, like everyone else, I’m sad to see you leave. But, right now it’s more important to pour yourself into your little ones. You have created a spectacular digi site. I have visited daily since the beginning & will continue to do so. Blessings to you Janet for taking care of your family.

Steph & Kate, I look forward to what you will do with TDD in the coming year.

Janet, you and your team have made this my daily “go to” site. The information published here have greatly expanded my “digi” capabilities and I really appreciate all of your time and efforts that have made the site so awesome. I wish you all the best in achieving that ever so elusive life balance, and am very glad to hear that you will still contribute your talent to the site. And to you, Steph, I am very glad that Janet is passing the torch to you!

Thanks for everything, Janet. As a homeschooling momma of four, I know, with all my heart, that you are making the right decision. Our children are only with us for a very short time..after they leave the nest, there will be lots of quiet time. (maybe too quiet!)
Steph, thanks for taking the wheel!

Wow Janet, what a hard decision it must be to walk away from your baby. You have made this site such an incredible resource and I’m excited to know that Steph will keep it alive. I’m so happy you will be able to focus your energies where they are most important – on that BEAUTIFUL family of yours :) I wish you nothing but the best always and look forward to our next play date!

Ditto to everything that has been said. Thank you so much for all that you have done to further my “career” as a hybrid designer. This site has been instrumental, and I thank you both for that! I look forward to some awesome inspiration and direction from Steph! Janet, you will definitely be missed!

So glad the Daily Digi will still be here, but I will miss your posts, Janet! This is hands-down my favorite digi blog. It inspires me, and I don’t mean that lightly — it’s this site that keeps me grounded in my scrapping, doing it for the reasons that are important to me instead of whatever’s important to anybody else. Thank-you for all the hard work you’ve put into this site and thank-you, Steph, for picking up where Janet is leaving off. Best wishes to you and your family, Janet! Though we’ll miss you, I admire you for your decision. Family does come first!!

WAAAAHHHH! While I am still glad that the digi will go on, it will not be the same. Sigh. I guess nothing stays the same though, does it? Good luck on your future endeavors, family is priority around here too. And while I understand 100% why you’re stepping back, you will be missed! And Steph, while we’re all moaning the “loss” of Janet, I look forward to getting to know you a little better, thanks so much for keeping the site going. I don’t think you have any idea how much I look forward to the new digi files every month! And all the highlighting of new designers that I would otherwise never have noticed. This is a great site, and you should both be very proud of what it has become so far!

I feel like copying and pasting the comments in here… Cause they all say what i would like to say. You’ll be missed, but I totally understand your decision. This is a blog I visit each day… So, I’m excited to see that it continues. And I agree with Laurel about your Templates! Keep them around… And what Bretta Said “Don’t be sad that it’s over…be glad that it happened!” is such a great statement/quote. – May God Bless your 2010 year. ; )

What can I say that hasn’t been said already? Janet, thank you from the bottom of my heart. This site is a haven in the digi world. The posts are so varied and it really fills me to read what you write. Steph, I look forward to reading more about you and seeing what the future holds. Thank you both for making this site what it is. Best of wishes to all.

I was so sad when I read that it wasn’t a joke, but relieved to know the dailydigi will continue. I am always amazed when I read about all of these digi world ladies who have so much on their plates…not sure how they do it all! It takes a good woman to give up something she loves for a greater (and eternal) good. Good luck Janet! Please keep contributing templates, they’re some of my faves :)

I once heard someone say “Don’t be sad that it’s over…be glad that it happened!”. Janet, I’m so glad you had the vision for thedailydigi and glad for the blessing it has been to so many people and glad that it will continue. I’m glad you were here to get things started and I pray you are blessed by your commitment to excellence in your family and personal life. It’s hard to see when our priorities are askew and also hard to make the changes to get them back in line again…you are a great example of doing it “right”. Thank you!

Janet, thank you for sharing your passion with everyone – both your passion for scrapbooking, but also for your family, definitely a standard for many of us to live up to!
