The Digi Chick has been under new ownership for quite a while now and they are doing some really great things over there!! There are some really talented new designers as well as long-timers in the store and lots of new products! I have had so much fun watching it grow. Their contribution is just in time for Valentine’s Day and I just love that acrylic alpha! Let’s take a closer look at “Joie De Vivre” that is included in The Digi Files this month:

The Digichick opened in 2005 by Holly McCaig and has had several owners since then. I joined as a member in late 2005 and joined the Creative Team in January when Laura Alpuche took over ownership. When Nicole Seitler became the owner, she asked me to join her team of Admins, and then when she was ready to pass the reins, I suppose that it felt like a natural progression for me to become the owner. The Digichick has been an important part of my life since 2005, and I can’t imagine the digital scrapbook community without it.
I would say that the interest in designing isn’t enough. If someone hopes to sell their designs and to be successful at it, I believe that it’s important to carve out specific times for designing and for marketing. I think that it’s important to have a realistic idea of just how much time a successful designer can spend creating products and then promoting those products and expanding his or her business.I think that it’s important for designers to find their style and then to be faithful to that style. This is part of what helps to build a customer base, in my opinion. You can, of course, experiment and try new things–that’s just part of growth, which is important in anything–but I think that you should always have your eye on your core customers. Another thing that I think is vitally important is a good solid quality control process to make sure that your products are top notch and a good team of people who will give you honest feedback about your work. Of course, above and beyond all of that is the desire to create beautiful products!
Boy, this was a hard question! Whenever we put together a new collab, it seems like that one becomes my favorite!
If forced to pick one, though, I’d say that the Yearbook Bundle (Yearbook–Class of TDC and Yearbook–Alumni Class) is my favorite bundle. This year we celebrated our 7th anniversary, and as part of those celebrations, we held a Homecoming Event. Our collab for that month was a two-parter: Yearbook–Class of TDC was the collab from our current designers and Yearbook–Alumni Class was the collab made up from contributions from Alumni Designers from our 7 year history. We had 14 former Digichick designers come back for this collab, so it was really fun to have some of our old friends back with us. At The Digichick we say “once a Chick, always a Chick” and I think that this was never more true than during that Homecoming Celebration.
I think that the most popular Boutique Collab that we have is probably My Digital Obsession. This kit captures everything that makes you fall in love with digital scrapbooking. It’s flowery and vintage and whimsical and just seems to offer something for everyone!

I love the DigiChick too! Most of my digiscrap collection comes from Digichick world, and they just seem to get better and better. And, they offer a great assortment of kits for those of us with little boys — boy kits seem to be much harder to find in the digiworld.

I LOVE The Digichick! I consider TDC to be my digital scrapbooking “home” and have come to love not only the products, but the community as well. The first layout I ever posted publicly was in their gallery, and TDC forums were the first place I really started interacting with the digiscrap community.
I remember when I first came across The Digichick store, it was the day they re-opened after their server crash – the middle of August 2012, I think. They had an awesome sale going on, so I bought like half the store LOL! It was love at first sight! There were a few link mix-ups as they were working on getting the store back up, and Sinead was so amazingly awesome whenever I stumbled upon a hiccup. I told her recently after I needed help with some download links, “I know if you can’t sort something out, no one can!” LOL!
Sorry this turned out to be so long, but I really can’t tell you all how much I love The Digichick and the amazing people who make this little corner of the digiscrap world so awesome.
