My name is Janelle Gustafson and I was born and raised in western South Dakota on a beautiful ranch/farm. I have many wonderful childhood memories of growing up there. I moved to Minnesota to attend Northwestern Bible College and eventually met my best friend and dear husband to be……we will be celebrating our 18th anniversary at the end of November!

We have 2 daughters, ages 8 and 11, who are so sweet, funny, wonderful, and crazy all rolled up into one…..I have been so fortunate to have been a stay at home mom to them for all 11 years of my ‘mothering career’, including one fabulous year of homeschooling!
Our life is far from perfect, but we love the way God brought us together and we are so thankful to have so many blessings from Him!

My journey into designing began a little over a year ago when I posted a page where I had made a ‘digital tag book’ within the full scrapbook page. I received quite a few requests for information about my technique so I made a template for anyone who was interested. Shortly after that, the wonderful people at Digital Artist Magazine asked me if I would be interested in designing digital tag books for each month’s issue. I said yes and as I started writing down every idea I had for tag books, I realized I was hooked not just on designing tag books, but papers & elements as well! I was already on the site creative team at Amy’s brand new venture, After Five Designs & she kindly allowed me to open my “Cafe J” there. I have loved calling After Five home & just love Amy and all of my wonderful designer and scrapper friends there!

I just celebrated my 1 year “Designaversary” at the end of October.

I am definitely both scrapper and designer. The creative aspects of each really feed my soul!

My design time is while my girls are at school during the day. Some days it could be all of those hours and some days none of them….I tend to go in streaks as I’m inspired or have time.

MI really love “Sunshine Street” because it was inspired by the fun times my family had while visiting my mom & dad on the farm this summer.
