I've been struggling with this. I will have to try the templates. I need to also be patient and let my 6-year-old daughter do her own thing. I have cringed many times while she is creating. This post has helped me resolve to allow her more time to do this, this coming year. She has been asking for her own album so that is a good place to start.

THank you so much for this article! My DD will be 5 in Feb. and I think this would be a great way for her and I to spend quality time together! And seeing as how she's very creative with arts and crafts, and can navigate a computer pretty well already, I think it would be really fun as long as I remember the patience and let her do it her way tips... lol. Thanks again!

OH my Janet... this post came so handy to me. On my girls asked me that she wants to start digi. She made one regular scraping album. I configure her pc but I didn't know how to start. my twins are also 6 years old... thank you so much for the tips.

What a great idea! And I'm not sure what's wrong with those pages. At least they are scrapped. I can't even get my pages done! Maaybe I need to start getting my kids to do them. I buy the kits and they do the work. Sounds like a deal to me!

I LOVE IT! I get irritated when I try to work with my youngest in Photoshop - so she actually uses some cheesy program that came free with our Canon printer - and it's perfect for what she's doing...which is putting everything she sees on the page...and when she resizes, it doesn't skew and you don't have to hold the shift key to make that magic work! Her patience are far shorter than mine, so the extra steps to use PS just wouldn't work for her quite yet. :o)

I love to see what my kids make though, and they do a lot of helping each other :) It's good homeschool teamwork :D
