Liz of Paislee Press is one of the few designers that I have been able to meet in real life, when we both attended CHA in 2011. Liz is a super sweet person and a brilliant designer! I LOVE her clean, minimal designs that always include gorgeous word art! The lined doodles that she includes in her collections are simply adorable. Her designs are easy to scrap with over and over! I created this photobook to document a weekend getaway with my girlfriends. I love it because this project came together so quickly and easily. I think partly because I didn’t stress over the “quality” of the photos and instead just focused on the memories/moments that we captured with our camera phones.
It was also neat to work with and incorporate other people’s photos into this album – to see the same moment documented via 4 cameras – sometimes our photos looked almost identical and other times they looked wildly different!
I started scrapbooking (paper first) in 2001. I didn’t venture into digital until 2005, and initially, I only intended to use photoshop to create mock up pages for our wedding album. Never in a million years did I think I would end up ditching paper for pixels and even more bizarre – that I would end up designing/creating for a living!
I’m inspired by colors, by photography, interior design and fashion, people watching, conversations, funny things my daughters say.
Photography is a big source of inspiration. For me it’s the most important design element on the page. Typography follows as a close second. And of course, white space, a place for the eye to rest is something I always build in when I’m creating a page. Those are the design rules that I follow.

Photoshop tip: Hold down the SHIFT key when you’re dragging something onto your working file – it automatically centers the object!
I can only pick one? 
There are so many kits that I love but if I have to single out just one, it would have to be a photobook/template kit. Hello, Love is one of my favorites because it focuses on the design elements that I love most – strong photo-centric layouts, lots of white space and discreet type treatment.
I can’t say for certain why this kit in particular stands out in my shop but I’d venture to guess that pretty much any kit with a photobooth or camera theme tends to do well. Maybe also because the colors and the elements are gender neutral so it appeals to a broader range of scrapbookers? I’m thrilled that photobooth has been so well received!
