Now That’s What I Call Scrapping!

I (Janet) don’t get into the galleries much anymore.  I have stayed true to my commitment of less time on the computer and more time with my family.  I love the benefits of less computer time, but I definitely feel as though I am missing out on some great stuff.  I remember when I first started scrapping…I would spend hours looking though the gallery, commenting on many, and generally just trying to soak in all the inspiration.  Those days are long gone — as is my time for such activities — but it makes the times I do take a peek that much more exciting.  I love that Steph wants me to continue my “inspired by” posts.  It is so fun to see what people in the digi community are up to and inspires me to sit down and scrap (which I hope to do when I am done with this post!)  In my stroll through the digi world, here are some of the layouts that caught my eye.  All layouts are linked to the original gallery posting.  I hope you are inspired!

I love this simple and yet stunningly striking layout.  The precious photo, the symmetrical design, and the awesome date stamp make it perfect!

This is a great “moment in time” layout! Whenever I visit my parents my dad always wants me to watch reruns of old shows of his and we spend a long time talking about the shows and how they were part of his generation.  Creating layouts like this one freeze time for a moment and give us a great place to relive the memories years down the road.  And the little TV’s are fabulous! If it were my layout, however, I would add the name of the shows somewhere on the page since the photos alone probably won’t mean much to grandkids twenty years later (and being the TV ignorant person that I am, I can actually only name one of these programs.  Can you guess which one?  LOL!)

“All about me” layouts are some of my favorite.  I was surprised a few weeks ago when I looked at my own AAM album and it is almost FULL!  Because I am all about ALL ABOUT ME layouts (I so want my kids to know who I was, especially of something happens to me while they are still young)…I LOVE this layout.  So simple and yet fun!

Can I just say that I ADORE this layout?  The patterned papers, the tasteful element use, the adorable photos, the journaling placement…EVERYTHING.  And I LOVE seeing people bold enough to not feel they have to use a title on every layout.

Bright, happy, fun, adorable…perfect.  And I LOVE the title in that it makes it so real by giving the pronunciation the baby uses.

This layout is simply fabulous.  I love how busy it is without being disorganized.  Lots of elements and patterned papers does NOT have to equal chaos on a page.  In this layout, the busyness adds to the page since it is about her daughter being almost four.  And believe me, I’ve had a daughter who was “almost four“.  Busy is the key word here.  I love all the splashes of color and the fun staggered journaling.  What a treasure this page is!

I could spend hours looking through Nettio’s gallery.  Her pages are so fun, so full, and so well made.  This page is no exception.  It shares about a struggle she had and what she was doing to meet the struggle head on.  I love the notebook paper background as well as all the educational elements that bring in the learning theme.

Stunning.  Just stunning.  Everything from the asymmetrical (yet balanced) design to the awesome element use to the fabulous journaling to remember a special mommy daughter time…all of it adds up to stunning.

Eeeek!  LOVE LOVE LOVE this.  How important it is to record the littlest details of our life that are a BIG part of our story.  I wish I had close up pictures of my grandmother’s rings or other important pieces of jewelry.  I think it is perfect that she took a photo of the ring and then shared the story.  This layout — and the ring — will be a treasured part of family history for many years.

Another fabulous photo-free layout.  I love all the lists and the feel of someone sitting at their desk and writing down what needs to be done.  LOVE it.
