The cold, hard truth: I have been married for almost ten years and we have moved houses EVERY summer that we have been married. Sometimes it has been across the street and sometimes it has been across the world, but yes, we have packed our home and started somewhere fresh EVERY summer. That’s a lot of moving! Truth be told, though, I like it. I like to clean out and de-clutter and start new and fresh and fun. Packing, however, is not always fun or easy and even though I am pretty much a professional now and I can slap on shrink wrap as good as any professional mover, I still need some tips here and there. I came across a great article on packing and moving and so I thought I would share:
How to Move in 6 Weeks or 6 Days, and Keep Your Sanity
By the time I get back from vacation (yes, being at the beach is WONDERFUL) I will have six days to pack my home and make the 25 minute move across town. I am all about that “eating take out” idea

You may or may not have seen this, but I thought I would share just in case. U-Haul sells color & room coded packing tape. It is FANTASTIC and makes for a much easier move. The boxes for each room get sealed with their own color. It especially makes the unloading and unpacking go much faster. Good luck!
We’re moving this summer, too! We’re moving halfway across the country tho. And I have a low-stress way of moving. it’s called TMO. hehe we’re military & the military is moving us. They have movers come, pack us up & unpack & could literally even unpack everything even we get to our new house. Oh, did I mention that if they break something, they replace it?
As an army family, we move alot…long distance. While it is cool to purge the closets every two years, I can’t for the life of me figure why anyone would voluntarily move EVERY summer and stay in the same area. Is there more to this than gypsy blood?
I moved a lot as a kid. Of course, it was “fun” for me because I wasn’t doing all the hard work. lol!
We’ve been living in this house for 9yrs. I’ve never lived anywhere for this long and I have a terrible itch to move. It’s starting to drive me nuts!
I can’t believe you move so often! We’ve been living in the same house for 7 years, and we have just painted the last room that needed it. I don’t think I would mind packing and unpacking (so not that often), but the cleaning up and finding a place for everything would “kill” me.
