Heather Ann Melzer (one of our first contributing designers to The Digi Files) is working with Hallmark Movie Channel to create special downloadable crafts and treats for Family Movie Night. Most Fridays, Hallmark Movie Channel is showing very kid-friendly movies and Heather creates crafts and treats that fit with the movie’s theme. Heather Ann posts the ideas on her blog in plenty of time to help you prepare for your own movie night fun. I’ve bookmarked several of these creative ideas over the past year and I knew it would be the perfect un-digi type of post to share with our readers!

Prepare to be inspired! (all images are linked to the original post on Heather Ann’s blog – be sure to go there for the instructions and even more ideas.)

Watching D2: The Mighty Ducks? How about some edible hockey pucks?

My Favorite Martian would be so much more fun to watch with some of these treats!

How about some tasty dumbell weights to “lift” while watching Heavyweights? Yum!

The Melzers have been hosting their own themed Family Movie Nights for quite some time (not just Hallmark Channel movies) and they go all out to make it a fun event!

Love the Bob treat for Monsters vs. Aliens!

You can check out all of Heather Ann’s creative ideas under the Family Movie Nights category on her blog. I can’t wait until we watch our next movie!

I’ve been following Heather’s movie nights since they started them (on her blog)! She has so inspired me to start this with my own family. Last week we had our first one and we watched Star Wars IV (the original one) and we had Princess Leah buns (cinnamon rolls) along with our candy and popcorn in our special SW cups. They boys thought it was so cool and it was a great way to break in a new tradition! I need to DVR the Hallmark ones so we can do them on Saturday nights with Heather’s ideas!
