I’ve only met a handful of designers in real life and Meredith is one of them. We met at a conference just about a year and a half ago and I thought she was so sweet and kind. I had heard her name around digital and knew she had been designing for quite a while. I love her designs, the bright colors, and her great talent for combining different patterns, especially in her papers. My name is Meredith Cardall. I am a southern girl transplanted to the rocky mountains of Utah. My husband and I have been married for almost ten years. We have two beautiful daughters. Hannah is 6 and Ainsley is 4.

I started paper scrapping when I was in high school. I LOVED to take pictures. Even in high school, I always had my camera with me. When it came time to get ready for college, I knew that I couldn’t take 20 photo albums across the country with me. So, I selected my favorite pictures and created scrapbook pages with them. I paper scrapped for 8 years.
One day in 2005, when my older daughter was learning to crawl, she choked on a blue adhesive tab. It absolutely terrified me. I Googled “computer scrapbooking” and found a couple of websites and I was hooked. I was accepted on a Creative Team almost immediately. One of the requirements was to create prizes for challenges, so I started learning how to create my own elements right away. But I didn’t start designing professionally until September of 2008. I absolutely love designing!
I am inspired by colors, nature and of course, my children. I love colors and textures. I collect paint and fabric swatches simply because I like to look at them. Pinterest is my new favorite website so that I don’t have to have all those things on my desk!
Computer: My computer started out as a Dell Inspiron, but most of its guts have been replaced over the years. I use Windows 7 (love it!!!). I have 3GB RAM (hoping to upgrade SOON).
Programs: Adobe Creative Suite CS4 and Artrage Camera: Nikon D60
Everything else: Genius Tablet, Epson Perfection 4490 scanner (hoping to upgrade both soon)
I absolutely love playing with Layer Styles! You can completely change the look of an element simply by applying and/or altering a layer style. Layer Styles are my very best designing friend!
