I’m going to give you a tip about shadowing your elements. I think a lot of people just add a drop shadow on their element. You can play with shadows to let them look a little bit more realistic.
How do you start with it:
First be sure that you are on the layout of the element with the drop shadow, click on the right button of the mouse on the drop shadow, and then you get a connection with a series of choices, choose for ‘create layer’. You’ll see that the drop shadow will come with a new layer. Click on the layer of the drop shadow and go to warp-tool (edit-transform-warp) and then you can play with your drop shadow to look them more realistic.

When my son was born, I wanted to make a ‘Thank you’ card for our family and friends. It all started with Photo Editing, that was in 2006. After a few weeks I discovered digital scrapbooking and a new world opened for me. It looked all so amazing and those layouts were beautiful. I started to buy some digital kits and since then I have never stopped. After a while I wanted to go further and make my own stuff. In 2008 I started with making my own papers and elements. I started with a blog and made some freebies, after a few weeks I got a spot in a store and became a digital designer. I think it’s great that you can choose your own theme and colors.

I look a lot in magazines, or simply the clothes of my kids, surfing through the internet. I love the clean and simple style which I also try to give to my designs. Mostly I start searching after colors and a name for it and start to make papers and then the elements.

my laptop: Intel Core 2 Duo, T5500. 4GB RAM, 160GB hard disk.
2 portable disk of 500GB and a NAS (Network-attached storage) of 2TB.
my computer: Intel Core i7, 920, 3GB RAM, 1TB hard disk.
I use Photoshop CS4.
I have a Canon Eos 50D. I have 2 lenses, Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II and a Canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS.
I have a wacom Bamboo Pen tablet since 3 months and I still can’t work with it. I have to make time for it so I can learn working with it because I think it it something wonderful for designers or scrappers.

Hope someone can help me.
