I have really enjoyed working with Lynne-Marie over the past year and a half since she first contributed to THE DIGI FILES. She is a very talented designer and extremely nice. I love how Lynne-Marie can take different elements and marry them through her designs to make a unique collection. Here’s a closer look at her contribution this month:

Here’s a design tip that I love to use to soften the edges of an element that is meant to look like paper (especially a fibery paper like kraft paper). First, select the element and then contract the selection by 2 or 3 pixels. Next, invert the selection so that only the outer edges are selected. Now add a very slight Gaussian blur (a radius of about 0,3 pixels). I also use this trick to soften edges of prints on my papers. If used directly on the print before adding a texture, the Gaussian blur may be added to the entire layer without first selecting the edges. Works like a charm!
I started paper scrapping back in 2006. I tried a bit of everything… clean and simple, freestyle, mixed media… you name it! This exploration naturally drove me to discover digi scrapping! I was studying graphic design when I stumbled upon Catscrap. It was love at first sight! Here were some elements that looked (and were) hand-made! After buying most of the store, I decided to take up designing and start making my own stuff! Little did I know, 3 months later I would be selling my designs through this fabulous shop! I’ve been there for two years now. I don’t scrap as much as I’d like to anymore. I spend so much time on my designs that I’m all worn out by the time the kit is done! However, I’ve resolved to create more kits and thematic quickpage albums based on my own scrapping needs. Perhaps by the time this is published I’ll have a few in my shop!
I am very inspired by color. I have creative moods too… sometimes I feel grungy and raw, while other times I feel graphic and bold. These moods influence the style of kits I produce. You won’t find that my kits all look the same. I love to experiment, just as I did with my paper scrapping. My latest craze is retro with bold graphics, and funky color palettes!
I have an iMac (swoon) that my 3 year old son knocked to the ground, so the screen is cracked… (grrr). I’ll soon be switching to a MacBook Pro 2,5 ghz with 4 gigs of ram… In the meantime, I’ve hooked up a cheap screen to my iMac. I use Photoshop CS, soon to switch to CS3, and an Epson Perfection V200 Photo scanner. I have a Nikon D70 and a canon powershot. My next purchase will be an Intuous Tablet. I can’t wait to start doodling on one of those!
I’m working on some stuff right now that will probably be my next favorite, but here’s a favorite from this summer:

Lynne-Marie has so much talent as a designer. She has so many really unique contributions. I still love her first contribution to The Daily Digi #3 “After School”. It is one of the coolest kits I’ve ever owned. And, when I saw she was contributing this month I couldn’t wait and she didn’t dissapoint me. Woodstock is a wonderful kit and I immediately scrapped a page of my daughter which is a huge thing since I lost my mojo in Feb.
