I am a 30 year old Oregonian that’s been designing in some form or another my entire adult life. After leaving my professional life as Art Director of a print and embroidery shop a little over a year ago I decided to venture out and see if my designs were of interest to anyone else. When I’m not designing I busy myself with my hairdressing fiancé, our four kids, 3 Chihuahuas, and our small glass-working company.

The short answer? After quietly digital scrapbooking for what seems like forever I worked up the nerve to participate in a challenge at a store that (sadly) no longer exists. It was such an easy way to transition from scrapping all by myself to scrapping with other people. I remained pretty quiet, however, as I’m painfully shy. The move towards designing wasn’t such a leap. I’d been designing my own paper and elements for years and after some confidence building answered a designer call at Polka Dot Plum in Spring ’09. When PDP opened September of last year I realized that designing in this capacity is truly perfect for me and a year later I haven’t looked back. Opening at CatScrap was a huge step that I’m so grateful to have been able to take. I get to share a store with amazing designers and phenomenal scrappers.
Absolutely everything. Art of any kind is, of course, a great inspiration. The strangest place I find inspiration, though? I watch Supernatural with a sketch pad. The wacko wallpaper in their various trashy/retro hotel rooms has frequently been a great starting point. It never ends up where I imagine it will but that’s the way it’s meant to be, I suppose. There are patterns in Delilah, for example, that I hurriedly sketched on the back of a napkin while I caught up on the last season in the middle of the night.
PC. Always a PC. 400gigs. Everything starts in Illustrator and ends in Photoshop if I’m designing. When I scrap it’s straight up Photoshop. My camera is an outdated Kodak. I also use a Wacom tablet on occasion.
Besides my Digi File offering (which I love) I’d have to say Summer Catch. It’s so bubbly and cheerful and came together without too much over thinking on my part. (a serious rarity)
Delighted! I was very happy that customers seem to love the vibrant, graphic patterns as much as I do.

I just recently discovered Allison when she moved to Catscrap. The gorgeous “Delighted” kit caught my eye and I bought it. Love absolutely everything about it. I can’t pick just one thing from her store, but if I had to, I’d say the colourful paper packs are next on my list.
