I (Janet) find inspiration for scrapbooking everywhere…magazines, blogs, real life, photos, books, galleries, and more. Scrapbooking, for me, is about preserving the thoughts, stories, memories, and photos that accompany this life that I am living. I love looking for new ways to document little “slices of life.” One of the ways that I do this from time to time is on my blog, in the form of a blog meme. A blog meme is “a type of Internet meme that requires active participation by the blogger…It’s often a series of questions that a blogger answers to share some personal perspective or experience on random topics.” There are lot of them out there, but one of the ones I enjoy the most is taken from The Simple Woman’s Daybook. I love the simplicity of the prompts and the way it is like taking a mental picture of a particular moment of a particular day. The prompts for this particular meme are:
FOR TODAY
Outside my window…
I am thinking…
I am thankful for…
From the learning rooms…(if this applies)
From the kitchen…
I am wearing…
I am creating…
I am going…
I am reading…
I am hoping…
I am hearing…
Around the house…
One of my favorite things…
A few plans for the rest of the week:
Here is picture for thought I am sharing…(add your picture here)
See, so simple. Some days, when I want to blog, but don’t have a lot of time or just want to “capture life as it is right now” I use this. And it got me to thinking…what a great way to create a “slice of life” scrapbook page. In fact, I am tempted to try something really fun like recoding these prompts for a whole year…maybe starting with my 34th birthday? In any case, I decided to start small and take one of my blog posts and scrap it. This was February 4th.
And here is another layout by team member Tara:
So how about you? Why don’t you save a little slice of life today and use these prompts. I bet you’ll love the result!

This is a great idea! Thanks for sharing.
