Digital ribbons are a wonderful gift to enhance our scrapbook layouts. I (Katie) love using ribbons on my pages for many reasons.
Ribbons can be an integral part of a page design as a photo holder or border. Ribbons can also be used to create unique embellishments such a ribbon flowers.

Ribbons can add important horizontal or vertical lines to a page. They also add visual interest and pizzazz!

Ribbons make wonderful frames for pages and photos:

A piece of ribbon can be the perfect finishing touch on a layout:

Many digital kits come with at least one coordinating ribbon. Don’t overlook these because they can really complete your page in style. If your stash could use a few more ribbons you are sure to find something that appeals to you because the digital shops are filled with all sorts of fun ribbon packs! Here are some of my favorites. We would love to see your ribbon layouts so feel free to leave us a link here in the comments or upload them to our flickr group. You can even add the tag “ribbon” to your layout credits (there’s a spot for tags) to make it easy for us to find. Here’s a link explaining tags on flickr if you are interested.

P.S. KristyB. was the random winner selected from the comments in yesterday’s post! She won $10 gift card Here’s what she said: Ooohhh…nice kit, Danielle!! I also love Flutter, Full Circle and New Lunchbox! Too many choices! – Watch your email later today for your gift Kristy!

I love many of those ribbons you linked. I think I might need to pick some of those up!
I definitely have been overlooking the ribbons in my stash! This post has helped me learn to give them the respect they deserve!!
I loved ribbons when I was paper scrapping and love using them on digi pages too. I think I add a little bit to every page. Here’s a LO that was so plain, until I added some ribbon and now I love it:

Thanks for the article!
Thanks for sharing your layout Tamara! It’s adorable
I love using ribbon on traditional scrap pages. I have not been fond of it on Digi pages. Usually because the ribbon I’ve had in kits are curved, or bent or tied in a bow and I hate that. – I had no idea that there were this many vendors out there selling straight flat ribbon! I may need to give digi ribbon another chance.
I have felt the same way Julia and was pleased to find so many wonderful and flat ribbons out there!
Love all the links to the beautiful ribbon packs. I would really benefit from a tutorial on how to make my own ribbon from digi paper! Then things would coordinate perfectly Just an idea… Thanks!
You can use this tutorial, but instead of using a solid color, use paper:
