How can you not fall instantly in love with with T for Me Designs? Her eclectic style comes together to create stunning collections that are begging to be scrapped with! I adore her contribution to The Digi Files this month and I KNOW you will too! Let’s take a closer look at “Every Day Matters” that is included in The Digi Files this month:

I am T for Me Designs, and T stands for Terese, might also be tea, even though I love coffee more My name is Terese Osterholm, living in Sweden with husband and four kids. Three of my own (son, almost 7 years old and twin-daughters, almost 3 years old) and 1 extra (step-daughter, 13 years old).

I love all things crafty! Reading, writing, painting. Always, I have so many different ideas spinning around in my head… Wish there were more hours during the days!

This layout reminds me of so many things! Off course, this is a page for my son´s album, and my kids are my greatest love in life and I will never get tired of making photo books for them!! This photo was taken last summer, our first summer in our new house. We have this huge piece of rock in our garden and when we moved here L didn´t dare to climb it, but now he runs up and down on that big rock and that is no big deal at all! Also, this page is from the Travel Notebook Collab with Val C Designs, and since she is a sweet friend and we had so much fun creating this collab, I will always be reminded of that as well when looking at this page!

I discovered digiscrapping in 2005, when I was trying to make my own “My First Year” Book to my son. I was hooked immediately! Love at first sight! This was the perfect thing for me, I could breastfeed and scrap at the same time!! LOL And no tiny pearls or stickers for a crawling baby to examine (=eat).

Then, I began giving away freebies on my blog, stuff I had experimented my way through in PhotoShop. Templates, hand-drawn elements and patterned papers. Well, I love PhotoShop and I could NOT resist trying designing myself! I emailed a few stores, since the freebies were such a success, and in November 2010 I opened up my very own digishop! Oh Happy Day!

Everydaylife. Colors. Quotes. Photographs. Glossy magazines.

Computer: I have a Nettop ASRock ION 330, 2 GB RAM. 400 GB hard drive space on two drives. Windows XP. Dual Samsung monitors. And an external hard drive on approximately 1000 GB.
Program: Adobe Creative Suite 5. Mostly Photoshop and Illustrator.
Camera: None of my own. This is on my wish list!
Anything Else: I have a Wacom Bamboo and I use it ALL THE TIME!!

When I design, I always have my kit preview up at the same time. When I have finished a paper, element or wordart I immediately add it to the rest and that way I can be sure I am going in the right direction when it comes to colors, matching elements or kinds of patterns. That way I can immediately change the paper or the element when I see it doesn´t fit it with the rest of the kit, and also, I can see which pieces are missing!

When I scrap, I LOVE photo editing, and I always save the edited photo in a folder called “Scrapped pictures” and the original photo goes in the folder where it belongs, I have some kind of system! LOL One folder for each kid and one for holidays and so on. But that way I can easily see which pictures are scrapped and which are not.

Yup, you can tell from my two tips here that my middle-name is Organized. LOL!

I LOVED creating this kit. I love experimenting with the papers here and I also was really pleased with how the wordarts turned out. I always love creating every day kits, I know those can be used over and over again!

My templates have been quite popular. There are some separate packs, some bundles and some photo books. I use templates myself from time to time and I think it is a great starting-point!

I’m excited to be welcoming Down Thie Road Designs to The Digi Files this month! When I looked through her store for the first time, I was in love with the fabulous theming and bold colors in many of her kits. She can rock the boy kits, but also does some pretty cool things with flowers (this month’s contribute is a prime example). Let’s take a closer look at “Blooming” that is included in The Digi Files this month:

Hi! I’m Angie of Down This Road Designs. I live in Sandy, Utah with my husband of 17 years and my 2 children. I love being creative with paper, scissors, paint, and anything that has do be done with my hands. I like to read, take photos, and spend time with my family. I love to preserve my families memories too.

My daughter spent about a month learning about Amelia Earhart for a project at school. During this time I had a request from a creative team member to create a first flight kit for air travel. I was excited to mix in a few elements that would go along with my daughters report. I love this layout because it showcases my daughter and her excitement that she had for learning about this incredible woman! I loved scrapping the photos and the memories that we will enjoy for years to come.

I started paper scrapping in 1997 after going on my honeymoon to Disney World. I had so many fun memories and photos that I wanted to have them all in one place. I stumbled upon digital scrapping in 2005 while looking for clip art and fonts for my paper scrapping. As I learned more about what digital scrapbooking was….I was very excited about how it all worked and in no time I was hooked.

I started designing after participating in a design contest at ScrapMatters in 2009. I did not pass the first round, but the design bug bit me and I was in love with designing elements and papers.

I have been creating digital kits since then and loving every minute. I decided to join the Design Star contest at ScrapMatters again in 2011 and was chosen to be one of the winners of the contest. I joined the Design Team at ScrapMatters and have been selling my designs there since March of 2011. I also sell my designs at my own website – Downthisroaddesigns.com

I am inspired by almost everything around me. My kids and the things they do and say inspire me the most. I love to browse through magazines, brochures, coloring books, and pinterest to find color combinations and inspiration.

Computer: I use a personal computer. HP G60 laptop. It runs with Windows 7.
Program: I design in Photoshop CS4
Camera: I have a Nikon D80
Anything Else: I have a Wacom Bamboo fun tablet that I use for designing and scrapping.

My favorite scrapping tip is the place feature in Photoshop. By importing your papers and elements with the place feature, you get your items placed in on your layout at just the right size. This is very useful especially if you scrap in a smaller size than 12 x 12.
File>place>browse to your file

I also think that shadows are what make your layouts. I will see a stunning layout and try to pinpoint what it is about that layout that just knocks my socks off. It is almost always the shadows that have been applied.

I love the yellow, grey, and teal colors in this kit!!! I have never really been a fan of yellow. And after creating this kit, I am loving it!!! The timeless elements are beautiful and elegant. I love using this kit to scrap all of my heritage layouts.

I love this kit because my kids spend hours in the spring decorating our sidewalk with chalk. The art only lasts for a little while so I was so excited to have a way to preserve them with this fun kit. I love the bright colors and the fun chalk elements.

Hi! I am Danielle Engebretson of Danielle Engebretson Designs. I live in Minnesota with my husband Dean and my two kids, Dawson and Ava. I work about 19 hours a week outside the home as a dental hygienist and the rest of my week is spent designing digital scrapbook products. While I love my profession outside my home, I am PASSIONATELY in love with graphic design. I love scrapbooking, spending time with my family, vacationing, and I LOVE to read.

I was inspired by the new kit I created for The Daily Digi, My Mother. It is a kit themed around mothers, perfect for Mother’s day and I have always wanted to get some of the pictures scrapped of my daughter with my mom. I think the most important part of a layout is journaling. Whether is a very personal written story or something as simple as the perfect quote on a layout. In the case of my layout, I was inspired by this perfect quote which describes exactly how I feel about my mom and my children and really the circle of life coming full circle for me as an adult. All those wonderful and warm feelings I have about my mom and my kids grandma are wrapped up perfectly into this single perfect quote.

I have been scrap booking since 2000. I was a introduced to scrap booking when I attended a Creative Memories home party with a friend. It also happened to be the year my son was born and the timing couldn’t have been more perfect, I fell in love with the idea of chronicling his life. In 2003, my daughter was born and I was fully indulged in preserving every moment of both of my children’s lives. In 2006, I became a signature addict and started playing around with Paint Shop Pro and Photoshop Elements and while browsing around one day, I ran across my very first digital scrapbook store, The Digi Chick. I was positively perplexed by the idea of scrap booking on my computer, up until this point in my life, there was no other type of scrap booking that existed outside of paper for me. So, I decided to dive in and try out this digital adventure. I was immediately hooked. At some point between 2006 and 2007, I decided I would teach myself how to design digital scrapbook products and I have been designing since. I spent several years as a designer at The Digi Chick and recently was very thrilled to be invited to open my exclusive store at Scrapbookgraphics.

I am inspired by so many things. Color probably being at the forefront of my inspiration. My kids inspire me. Current trends inspire me. Trying new design techniques and tricks always give me drive to create something new. Pinterest is my new best friend and I spend alot of precious time on that site! So addicting.

Computer: My computer is an old gal. She has been around now for about 4 years. She is ready to retire and I would love to replace her with a MAC. That is my plan and I am working towards that purchase this year. For now I have a lovely little XPS M1210 Dell laptop. I have Windows XP operating system and have never had a desire to have a different operating system, as I am very much a creature of habit and don’t like to change things up too often. I have 4G of RAM. I have had to add more memory to my old girl over the years and I have replaced her hard drive a time or two. She really has been a faithful computer.
Program: I currently am using PSCS5 and AICS2.
Camera: I have my iPhone 4S camera that I use the most because it is an awesome camera and it is with me all the time. Otherwise, I have a Nikon point and shoot. I would love to get a “new, expensive” Nikon. One day!
Anything Else: I use a Bamboo Fun tablet for drawing and have a CanoScan 8800F for extractions and a HP Photosmart 7510 printer.

One of my favorite crafts I spend time with is hand sewing fabric flowers. I can’t begin to tell you about the endless tutorials out there on how to make all kinds and types of different fabric flowers. I love fabric. I love to touch it and smell it and buy it and create with it. It has become one of my favorite ways to make flowers for my digital kits and with a quality scanner, it couldn’t make for a better recipe of success. They are easy to make and add so much pop to a layout and the whole process brings joy to life. Plus, the flowers become multipurpose, when I can attach them to a headband for my daughter to wear and enjoy. They also make perfect little gifts for my friends having babies.

I have always had a shabby yet very sweet/cute style that is deep down honestly “me”, however, I am a very eclectic person and am awestruck by so many styles. Sometimes my style can be all over the map. At the end of 2011, I found myself being drawn to a shabby, sweet, and cute, yet vintage styles. In March 2012, I designed a vintage kit that I absolutely fell in love with. Truly You, came to life from a color palette that was filled with colors I love right now. I think it is the vintage kitten graphics that make me love it so much, that and the color palette.

I have no idea why it is popular. I have a bit of an issue with designing girl kits far too much. I am a girly girl at heart. I think there is something about this girly kit that grabs people. It is shabby, cute, but has a little vintage feel to it. It is really popular right now. I love it. My girl Ava, inspired it. She’s All That and so much more!

I am pleased to introduce to you Poccolina Designs and our first designer from Ahhh Scrap! I was really excited when I clicked over to Piccolina’s store for the first time. I quickly purchased some goodies and unzipped as fast as I could. The quality was very, very good and I shot an email off as fast as I could to invite her to contribute to The Digi Files. I love Piccolina’s shabby design aesthetic and how all of her papers, patterns, elements, and colors create a cohesive collection. Let’s take a closer look at “Limerick” that is included in The Digi Files this month:

This is ONE of SEVEN collections you get when you become a member of The Digi Game this month. You also get an interactive Playbook (in PDF and iBooks formats) that has lots of ideas for using the supplies including techniques, tips, and tricks! All of that, including access to exclusive collaborations every four months you are a member, for only $7.50 total per month!

A note about this layout: SharonS has sent me layouts for every single Digi File contribution since we started accepting them in January 2010 (that’s about 196 layouts). I’ve learned a lot about Sharon and her family through those layouts. I want to say CONGRATULATIONS to Amy and Sharon on Dr. Amy G’s graduation from dental school!!

My real name is Teri. I am a stay at home mama to the Little Lady (4) and the Little Man (2). They keep me busy and happy. My hubby of 6 years is pretty supportive of my digital world, even when it sometime means I spend more time with the computer than him. I love anything crafty. I dabble in sewing, crochet, home decor, photography…..and so on. I probably have too many “hobbies”.

I am part of Seasonal Swaperoos, a craft swap group. We had a swap going on while I was working on this kit. I wanted to make the butterfly art project (inspired by Ali Edwards) and the pinwheels for my swap partner. I decided to head to the craft store to get some pretty, springy papers for the projects. Then it hit me….I had just created some pretty, springy papers. I have printed my papers in the past for a few hybrid projects and love to see my papers printed out. I went a little overboard on printing papers from Limerick and ended up making myself (as well as my swap partner) a set of pinwheels and the butterfly art. I sometimes forget what a wealth of awesome supplies I have in my digi supplies. That is probably why my paper collection continues to grow even though I have not paper scrapped for 5 years.

I have done paper scrapbooking in the past, but not much because it was always so much work to get everything out and then only get to do a little before it all had to be put back up. My mother bought all of us girls a copy of PSE 4 for Christmas in 2005 because she had discovered this incredible world of digital scrapbooking and thought her girls should join the fun. I did use PSE 4, but only for editing photos. I had a hard time grasping the whole layers concept for scrapbooking. Then I found a first layout tutorial in early 2008 at the Shabby Princess and there has been no going back (although I still collect scrapbooking paper). I love not having to print photos to scrap them and that I can just close my laptop when I need to put up my scrapbooking supplies. I started designing in late 2008 and loved it. Piccolina is an Italian term of endearment meaning “little one” and was for my Little Lady who was born in 2008.

Everything. I am a horticulturist and landscape designer by education and trade so I do get a lot of inspiration from the natural world and those design concepts. But there is so much inspiration everywhere; home decor, clothing, fabric, holiday decor, etc. And the internet makes it so easy to access it and some incredible color palettes.

Computer: My Dell recently died on my (it was truly a sad time for me). I am now on a Lenovo IdeaPad with Windows 7. It has an intel Core i3 processor, 4GB of RAM, and 750GB of hard drive sace. Although I was sad to leave behind my Dell, this Lenovo has a lot more RAM and harddrive space, so I am able to run my programs better.

Program: I started designing with and still do a majority of my designing with PSE 7….really. Hard to teach an old dog new tricks. I started learning CS2 in 2010 and purchased CS5 last summer. I now use Illustrator for a great deal of my elements and patterns that I create, but then import them into PSE 7 to finish the product. I do use PS5 for strokes, layer styles, and a few actions that I cannot run in PSE 7. I know it is silly to have CS5 and still use PSE 7 for the majority of my finished product, but I am just so dang comfortable in PSE 7 that I am faster using it.
I also use Art Rage for creating glitters and some texture.
I use WinRAR for zipping and unzipping product and AMP Font Viewer for viewing and temporarily installing fonts.

Camera: I have Canon Rebel xsi that I do not pull out and use nearly as often as I should.

Anything Else: I do use a Bamboo tablet occasionally. My Little Lady gets more use out if than I do. I will open up Illustrator and let her go to town.
I also use two separate external hard drives (500GB and 1TB) for back up.

Keyboard shortcuts!! I love them for working in design programs and find myself hitting Ctrl+J in other programs such as Xcel and being frustrated that it will not copy for me.
I use these the most often: (these are PC since that is what I use)
CTRL+ j = copies the layer
CTRL + g = groups with previous
CTRL + e = Merge down
CTRL + d = deselect
CTRL + z = undo
Shift + CTRL + U= remove color
CRTL + s =save
Shift + CTRL + s= save as
CTRL + n = open new blank file

I know that starting with keyboards shortcuts can be difficult at times, but I always recommend just starting with one. Pick a function that you use often (like copying a layer) and work on using that shortcut. Once you have mastered that one, move to another one. They really are huge time savers.

I love the colors of this kit and the theme. Last fall I was in a thankful state of mind. I was almost overwhelmed at times with gratitude for all the blessings in my life. Live in Thanksgiving is kind of a tribute to that. I went with some traditional fall colors but also added in some blue to make it unique. I enjoyed making this kit and I have loved the layouts I have made using this kit. The kit is a perfect compliment to the layouts of the things I am thankful for.

Cottage Comforts was inspired by a Pottery Barn bedding ad. The palette is taken from the items in the add (the bedding, the night table, a lamp shade, the bed frame). I wanted a kit that was inviting and warm. I think that is why it is popular.

I first discovered Amy Jaz Designs when Amy uploaded some layouts to our Flickr group using her own products. My name is Amy Jazwinski, and I live in Arizona with my loving hubby, and two beautiful daughters.

This layout was inspired by a favorite picture of my oldest daughter from one of our recent trips to Disneyland. I am a very clean, simple style designer, and that reflects in my layouts as well. I like to focus in on one photo, and focus on the emotion that the creates.

I began digital scrapbooking in back in 2008 when my first daughter was born, and I was looking for a way to document photos of her and all her milestones, but did not want to spend a zillion dollars on paper scrapbooking products. I found a tutorial online on digital scrapbooking, and was hooked instantaneously. At the same time, I started doing a little graphic design, and I opened my etsy shop Bean Sprout Studio, designing party invitations and birth announcements. For the last four years, I have been designing stationery, and at the same time, personally designing for my digital scrapbook pages and layouts. Recently I had my second daughter and have been realizing how quickly the time goes, and I knew that I did not have nearly enough of my daughter’s lives documented. I decided to switch my focus from designing stationery products to digital scrapbooking products so I can focus more of my time on doing something that is important to me.

As cliche as it is, my daughters inspire me to create. I design and scrap to preserve their childhood memories, so I create products that I want to use in my own personal scrapbooking. My style is very clean and modern. I wish I was the type to include more photos on one page, but it just doesn’t fit my design aesthetic.

Computer: Computer- MacBookPro
OS- Mac OS X 10
RAM- 4GB
Monitor- no outside monitor.
Program: I use Photoshop CS4 and Illustrator CS4.
Camera: Nikon D90
Anything Else: I also have a Wacom Pen Tablet.

I think an important thing to remember when designing is scale. I always zoom out to view my whole layout, to make sure the size of each element makes sense in relationship to the other elements on the page. For example, when stapling a paper frame to a page, the staple needs to look proportionate in relation to the frame. Disproportionate elements on a page jump right out at me, and I usually can’t get past that to view the layout as a whole.

The Fresh Start Kit is one of my favorite kits to date. I usually map out my kits in advance, but this kit practically designed itself. I had a path in mind, but once I got into designing it, I went in a completely different direction. I love how it turned out, with just the right balance between modern and vintage style. I designed it at the end of 2011, and the focus of the kit is all on starting fresh in the new year. It’s a great versatile kit, with a soft and neutral color palette that will really compliment many products in your current arsenal.

Hands down my most popular product to date is the Day By Day Overlays. I designed these overlays to fit in with my digital Project Life, and they’ve been a great resource to have in my collection. I love the hand drawn design, and they really help a digital Project Life, feel like the real thing.

Vicki Stegall is the proud owner of Oscraps.com. Vicki opened Oscraps 6 years ago when she made the transition from a traditional paper scrapbooking to digi scrapping. While Vicki is and always will be a designer at heart, the responsibilities of running a major digi site don’t leave her as much time for designing as she’d like. She’s a born and bred ‘Okie’ and really does say, “y’all” all.the.time. She lives with her IT hubby, Anthony and her 12 year old son, Alyx, who is also her primary scrap subject.

Andrew & I went out to Lake Hefner to take photos for his graduation announcements and he was such a great model! I’m sure he was sick of me taking pictures long before I was tired of taking them.

I’ve been creating photo albums and scrapbooks since my first job in high school. I worked in a FotoMat booth and developed a love for taking pictures. I moved more into creating individual layouts as paper scrapper after the birth of my son, Alyx. I became a stay at home mom with his birth and needed a creative outlet. Scrapbooking was the perfect activity for me. I primarily scrapped with a friend I met in childbirth classes and one day she called me and said, “Hey, you know more about computers than I do. I heard about this new thing, digital scrapbooking and I was hoping you’d check it out and see if it’s something we can do.” Well, this was early on in the industry and there just wasn’t much out there. But, I was intrigued and decided to give it a try. Since there really wasn’t much out there at the time, I decided to try making my own designs. I mostly just made things and then printed them out to use on my paper layouts which I posted online at scrapbook.com. Many people started asking for some of my items and for me to create more and more. I soon realized just how much I loved designing. I figured it would be easier to share my designs if I had a website, so I built Oscraps.com on a server here in our house and released all my designs as freebies. The bandwidth demand immediately interfered with my hubby’s online gaming, so I bought my first ‘real’ server. Oscraps grew at such a phenomenal rate, I couldn’t keep up with the demand on my own, so I brought on other designers and soon built it into a full service shop complete with gallery and forum.

What inspires me to create? EVERYTHING. (and deadlines – lol) I tend to get caught up in the actual running of a large store – background site issues, customer service, etc. so I don’t have as much time for designing (and/or scrapping), so deadlines and commitments are my biggest inspiration at the moment. Regardless of time constraints, I’m always, always looking at everyday items and thinking about ways I can translate them into a scrap item. For example, I was in Tractor Supply today and found inspiration in some form of gear thingie.

Computer: The majority of the time, I use a Dell XPS15 laptop with 8 GB of RAM and 680 GB harddrive (wish it was bigger!)

I also have a desktop PC with two 21 inch linked monitors. This is my primary design computer and I use one of the monitors turned sideways so that I can really spread out my current items to see everything together and moving within various Photoshop windows while designing a new kit.

Program: I use Photoshop CS5.

Camera: Everyday camera – my iPhone 4s

My “good” camera (which I don’t know how to use very well) – Canon EOS 5D

Anything Else: iPad 2, Kindle 1 & 2, and Nook Color (I like gadgets). My favorite is my Kindle. I use it to listen to my books via the “text-to-speech” feature. It takes some getting used to, but I love listening to books while I do extractions and laundry

My biggest tip ever is to PLAY. Play with features in Photoshop or your camera that you’ve never used. Experiment with layer styles. Use items in unexpected ways. This layout shows using a gajillion elements to create my title and is one of my favorites because it I used various items in unexpected ways.

Just PLAY! You can always ctrl+alt+z (which is a keyboard shortcut in Photoshop and my most used shortcut).

Rock On {World Tour} is my favorite kit of mine. I absolutely love all the grungy, funky and wild patterned papers. I totally enjoyed a tremendous sense of creative freedom while making this kit from playing extensively with Photoshop tools & tricks to printing out the papers to hand craft some items for extraction as elements.

Ransom {The Whole Shebang} is my most popular product. It was inspired by ‘ransom notes’ and my fascination at the time with recycling magazines in different craft projects. This kit took the longest of any of my kits to create due to the fact that I painstakingly went through magazine after magazine clipping words and letters to create an authentic ransom note alpha and word art set. Because of the random nature of the alphabet, it totally freed me up to play with a vivid and varied color scheme. Knowing not everyone likes bright colors for scrapping, I included a complete set of neutrals, as well.

Hi, I am Jenn Barrette and am originally from Windsor, Ontario Canada, but moved to my husband’s hometown, Kenora, Ontario, in 2004. Kenora is a very outdoorsy lakeside town. The population triples in the summer because we are in cottage country…and I hate the outdoors. LOL But, I love my husband Dave, so I deal with living in town without a real mall. We have been together since 2003 and have 2 girls. Ava is 5 years old and goes to kindergarten 3 days a week, and Lilly is 3 and goes to preschool 2 days a week. Designing is definitely my dream job, I get to work in my PJs, spend extra time with my kiddos, and have the joy of seeing my art used to scrapbook my customers memories. In my so called “spare time,” I am often found lost in the web…pretending to work, reading novels better suited to 15 year olds, baking up delicious cupcakes, and listening to bad pop music from the 90s – 2000s, or day tripping with my amazing family.

This is probably one of my favorite pages I have created. I used a template to start my page (template is by Emily Merritt) but added a few of my own touches to it. I used my own kit (Happy Camper) and the photos are from just a simple evening hanging out in our own backyard around an outdoor fire pit.

You may notice that I used a few of my “go to” elements. Every kit I create will usually have a scattered element of some sort (beads, confetti, etc), flowers, buttons, and ribbon. These are my favorite goodies to scrapbook with!

In 2006, I was expecting my first child and knew I wanted to create a scrapbook to document her life. My mother gave me a bunch of her paper scrapbook supplies, and bought me a few “new baby” goodies as well. Unfortunately I never used them! I had bought a scrapbook magazine that had a disk included with it. On that disk was some very simple digital scrapbooking software…and within days I was completely hooked!
I am addicted to matching my kids outfits to my scrapbook pages, so I soon found myself searching for the perfect kit to match my daughter’s little outfits. When I couldn’t find anything, I started playing around in Photoshop trying to create my own. Soon I was spending any spare moment I had at the computer trying to learn Photoshop on my own, and designing my own kits to use on my pages.

COLOR. I love searching through Pinterest, decorating blogs, and children’s clothing sites for the perfect color combinations for my kits. Sometimes I start with a theme I have in mind and then search out a color scheme to work with, but more often than not it is a certain group of colors that speak to me and lead me to an idea for a kit.

Computer: I use a Windows 7 PC with…wait for it…..12 GB of RAM. I also have a wide screen monitor so I can use the Windows split screen function to surf the web or watch a movie as I design. I am such a multitasker and have trouble “just designing”. I love having a little distraction or two going on around me as I work.
Program: I currently use Photoshop and Illustrator CS5 for my designing. I also have an older copy of Lightroom 1.4 that I use for my photo editing.
Camera: I have a Canon Rebel XS camera, and my favorite lens is my 35mm.
Anything Else: I also use a Wacom Bamboo Pen & Touch tablet for doodly elements and to help with extractions.

Take your camera everywhere. I know it can be a pain to lug around a DSLR camera (my camera bag doubles as my purse most of the time!) so at the very least use the camera function on your phones. Time really does fly, and scrapbooking those little moments helps me to kinda hang out to those memories longer. As great as it is to hone your photography skills, sometimes that out of focus, too dark, etc photo is all you need to scrap the perfect page.

My favorite season is Autumn, and I always take my kids out for an “Autumn Photoshoot”. This year my daughter Ava wore an outfit that had both purple and pink in it, but I couldn’t find a Autumn themed kit with those colors. I do love theme kits, but usually like to put a different little spin on them, and thought something girly and woodsy would be perfect Autumn.

I think what made this kit so popular is it’s versatility. “Little Miss Personality” has a color scheme that can go with just about any color photos. The bright colors and loose theme were inspired by my youngest daughter Lilly. She is so fun of personality and is such a joy to be around.

I am SO happy to welcome back Mari Koegelenberg to The Digi Files again! It is always fun for me to watch a designer’s style evolve through the years. I have always loved Mari’s designs, but have found over the past year or so that I really can’t resist them. Chances are, if Mari has something new out, it will be added to my collection. I love her great use of color, patterns, doodles, type, and theming to create cohesive and fun collections! Let’s take a closer look at “Daydreamer” that is included in The Digi Files this month:

This is ONE of SEVEN collections you get when you become a member of The Digi Game this month. You also get an interactive Playbook (in PDF and iBooks formats) that has lots of ideas for using the supplies including techniques, tips, and tricks! All of that, including access to exclusive collaborations every four months you are a member, for only $7.50 total per month!

I am a South African Expat living in California. I am blessed with 2 kids a loving husband and an amazing job. Design is my passion and my love. I feel so lucky to wake up each day and get to make pretty things.

Project Life has appealed to me on so many levels and this year I decided to take the plunge. I am really loving the fact that I am documenting my families everyday moments. I have only been doing this for a few months and the satisfaction of viewing my pages completed is just the best thing ever. The kids are just as excited about this project and love to contribute. The sense of accomplishment really motivates me and ensures that this project will stay viable for a long time. If you do something for long enough it becomes a force of habit and I think you will agree this is a great habit to have.

When my eldest was born in 2004 I wanted to document her everyday little moments and was very much intrigued with Scrapbooking. Digital Scrapbooking was just starting out and it was the perfect solution. As with most designers from that period you had to make a lot of stuff for yourself and well I started getting good at it and loved it too…lol. So I ventured into the world of designer-dom. It was such a proud moment when I was accepted as one of the new designers at Sweet Shoppe Designs and I am so excited and happy to start this new chapter.

As a converted paper scrapper I love using my computer to not only create Hybrid Products which can be found under my Cutting Files brand (also available at Sweet Shoppe Designs) but I also create Paper Products for My Minds Eye.

I love color…it speaks to me and has a very unique personality. Certain colors evoke certain feelings and moods. As a paper/hybrid scrapper I also get inspired by certain trends in the paper craft world and want to incorporate them into Digital Scrapbooking. I can use as an example my current love for Confetti and Subway Art.

Computer: I have a Mac OS X Lion, Memory: 4GB 1333 MHz RAM, 500 GB HD with 500GB EHD, 21.5′ Monitor, and daily/continous backup to Back Blaze.

Program: I mainly work in Photoshop CS 5 and Illustrator CS 5. Just a note when I upgraded my OS to Lion Photoshop started to behave erratically after a friend suggested I switch it from 64 bit to 32 bit the problem was solved.

Camera: I have a Nikon D40 with a Standard Lens and a 35mm Prime Lens. I also use my iPhone for everyday moments.

Anything Else: Wacom Bamboo Fun Touch Tablet, Silhouette SD Digital Die-Cutting Machine, Epson Workforce NX415 Printer and Epson Scanner V300.

I love to scrap with Smart Objects. Especially when you love to resize things on your layout (at least down and not up…not recommended!). You will not lose detail and sharpness and can always reset to the original size, which is great for photos. You can also apply certain filters non-destructively.

Hello Sunshine just represents Summer to me. It all started with the Colors…they were so fun and bright and I loved the bright cheery yellow in the palette. It is packed with fun elements and patterned papers.

My vision for Thrifty Finds was a kit that could be used over and over again for almost any type of page…hence the name. It has a vintage flair with beautiful floral motifs and everyday basic patterns.

Hi, I’m Christine Chodil. I am a designer, magazine addict, and mother of two young children who like to create zip lines in the family room using furniture, a broom, and a sand pail. Did I mention they are 4 years old and 2 years old? I have a wonderful husband who supports my creative quirks, a house in the suburbs, and a golden retriever. Life is good, and exhausting; but mostly good.

I found digital scrapbooking almost five years ago, before my daughter was born. I just ate up all the tutorials I could find, because I loved playing around with photos and backgrounds and elements and blending. After a couple of years I decided to dip my toes into designing my own digi products and I instantly fell in love with creating patterns and putting together color palettes.

Interior design magazines, the wacky things my children do, a funny phrase, a cool color combination… Pretty much anything can give me inspiration for a product, but color absolutely rules my world. I. love. color.

Computer: I have a 15″ MacBook Pro that runs on Lion, with 4 GB RAM, 500GB hardrive and and two external harddrives- one is a dedicated back up.

Program: I design in PSCS4 and Illustrator.

Camera: Nikon D90 and an iPhone 4

Anything Else: I love my Wacom Intous tablet.

Here’s a very simple photography tip: regularly step in front of the camera. So often those of us behind the camera don’t like to be the ones having our photos taken, but the more you make a habit of it, the easier it gets. OK, so not every photo you end up in is going to capture you on a good day. However, the odds are that the more photos you take, the better the chances you will like a few of them!

Reflection Papers. I love the way the colors and patterns turned out in this paper pack. The colors were chosen by the CatScrap team for our Winter Catwalk, and for me they inspired a sense of calm and retrospection. The walls of my home are covered in these colors.

I think my Simple Dates 365 are my most popular product. I think most scrappers like to fill their stash with a few simple basics, and these don’t expire at the end of the year!

HI there! I’m Jan Crowley aka The Queen of Quirk and I live in Germany with my hubby and 3 daughters. I’ve been designing digiscrap goodies since 2006 and I am still amazed at how much I love doing this! I am a sucker for odd color combinations and anything with a bit of twist!

I started scrapbooking in high school. I was addicted to magazine clippings and cutting out silhouettes of me and my friends goofing off. When I began having kids in 2001, I found a whole new level of scrapping and my love for the hobby continued to grow. After a couple of years, though, I had more product than I knew what to do with and realized that I was a hoarder and didn’t put my products to use as much as I would have liked. I happened across a digital layout one day in the galleries and everything just clicked for me. At the time I was studying interior design and was becoming familiar with Photoshop and I just jumped in head first. At first I designed freebies and after I felt like my designs were really, really good I started to sell them. I really do love this job. It has never ceased to make me happy.

We’re big travelers so I would have to say that is the biggest influence for me. This latest kit, “better than ever” is inspired by a recent trip to Paris with my girlfriends. The flea markets, the museums and the fashion all blended together for a truly inspiration filled time. I found myself itching to get back to my computer the entire time and taking photos like mad.

Computer: I’m a Windows kind of gal. My hubby built my computer for me. Currently I use Windows 7 and I have 4GB of RAM and 500GB of EHD space.

Program: I design and scrap with Photoshop and Illustrator CS4

Camera: We’ve tragically been missing our Canon 40D for a year now. (It’s a huge mystery in our house) and so I have been relying on my iPhone + my little Panasonic point & shoot. It’s not ideal (and I certainly miss the high quality photos) but I actually take more photos now than I ever did before.

Anything Else: When I’m feeling froggy, I play with my Wacom Intuos3 tablet.

I try to keep my office and desk as clean as possible. I have made my office a little refuge/ calm space for me to retreat to when I design or scrap. I find it helps me to focus better when I am in a beautiful, clean space that is all my own.

Halloween is my second favorite time of year and I just adore everything about it. It’s also one of my favorite holidays to scrap so designing Halloween goodies is always a ton of fun for me.

I love designing templates and this is my most popular one. I usually have specific photos in mind when I design a layered template and these photos of Lara, my oldest daughter, are favorites of mine. I love having just a couple of photos and then small pops of patterned paper or color so that was the biggest influence in this template’s design.
