On January 1, 2012, The Daily Digi celebrated our 3rd birthday.

I went to dinner Friday night with a friend and we reminisced about the day of the launch and how I had been up all night that New Year’s Eve, getting ready to go live. On one hand, it’s crazy that it’s been three years; on the other it seems like The Daily Digi has always been part of my life.

We have evolved a lot over the past three years. We have posted a lot of material, covered a lot of subjects, and heard from many of you. It’s been truly humbling and overwhelming to hear how different things on The Daily Digi have impacted our readers. It is nothing short of awesome!

Thanks so much to the thousands of you that have made The Daily Digi part of your daily life. Especially, thanks to our members that keep the daily in everyone’s digi! We are looking forward to many, many more years ahead!

Happy Thanksgiving!  We are indeed grateful for our readers and members today and everyday! We are thankful that we get to do what we love here at The Daily Digi and share it with you! We are taking the day off, but will be back tomorrow with a very full Funtastic Friday!

Almost a year ago I got an email from Stacy Julian asking if she could schedule a conference call for herself, her partner Kayce, and me to discuss some things.  I was blown away when we had the call and they said they wanted to partner with The Daily Digi to bring digital scrapbooking classes to both of our customers.

I am excited to announce that today, the first few digi scrapbook classes are live!  We have a couple of free classes and something for every level of digi scrapper.

Now, when you click on the “Classes” link in our header, you will land on our co-branded Big Picture Classes/The Daily Digi page.  Be sure to check back often to see what’s new and sign up for our newsletter so you don’t miss a thing!  We have lots of great classes and workshops being created right now and we can’t wait to share them with you!

It’s been a loooong time since we’ve done a survey around here and we have some things we want your input and opinion on!  We have some ideas for new regular posts and a few other things, so to help us decide how to rearrange the calendar, we want to know what our readers think.  We have a few other questions in there as well, but it’s super short and will only take a couple of minutes to answer!  Plus there is a goodie at the end for you to download!

I am just getting back from a long weekend vacation with my family.  We had lots of fun and made some wonderful memories that I am super excited to scrap!  As I was taking photos of the moments and memories as they happened, it made me think of the things that I do better because of The Daily Digi, our customers, readers, and designers:

• I take more photos.
• I learn more.
• I find new ways to document memories.
• I have let go of thinking I need to scrap everything and scrap it a certain way.
• I research more (especially scrapbooking related subjects).
• I document our memories…a lot!
• I am inspired to do more, scrap more, document more, and learn more!!

I have really enjoyed hearing about your favorite memories and look forward to sharing many more with you over the coming years!

As we welcome 2011, we are also welcoming this collection that has been a work in progress for several months!  It is a collaborative effort by 20 designers in the digital community that contributed to The Digi Files between September 2009 and September 2010.  “Celebrate a Year of Memories” is the perfect collection to help you document the memories that you cherish and want to celebrate! You can purchase this month’s Digi Files individually in the store or you can subscribe (monthly or annually) to receive even more goodies!

We did a collaboration similar to this in the fall of 2009 and I thought it would be fun to start doing them once a year in January, our birthday month!  Here’s what you will find in this collection:

We are also celebrating The Daily Digi’s SECOND birthday today!!  I can hardly believe it, yet so much has happened in the past year!  Here’s a glimpse of a few of the things that kept us busy this past year:

• We said farewell to Janet and her almost daily posts just over a year ago.  I love seeing her posts once a month and look forward to the inspiration they bring!
• We brought Katie on as a Contributing Writer, I know we all enjoy the information, resources, and inspiration she provides!
• We launched our own iPhone app.
• We worked with almost 100 designers to bring a new issue of digi files each month.
• We’ve created 437 posts.
• Along with Paperclipping.com and IzzyVideo, we launched a weekly podcast, The Paperclipping Digi Show
• We launched our own group on Flickr
• We launched our Playbooks.
• After almost two years of work, we finally launched subscriptions to The Digi Files and Digi Game (combination Digi Files and Playbook)
• We said farewell to some team members and hello to new ones.

I have really enjoyed getting to know many of our readers, customers, and designers over the past year!  Many of you have been with us since our first post two years ago.  Many of you have purchased every month of The Digi Files from the beginning! We have welcomed new readers and brand new digital scrapbookers and I have loved every minute of it all!!

We have many, many projects and exciting new things that we continue to work on behind the scenes.  We plan to bring you lots of tutorials, ideas, inspiration, and freedom as you “Celebrate Your Memories” all year long!
