Hi everyone! It’s Steph here, first off, I want to say that I do not have any news on Janet’s daughter yet. I do know though, that they will appreciate all of your thoughts and prayers, so keep them coming!
I have learned a lot from Janet over the years I have known her and one of those things I have learned is that you have to go with what is in your heart. So, today’s un-digi comes from MY heart!
BALANCE. It is something I have had on my mind a lot lately. Sometimes, it can seem impossible to find balance in all of the roles I play in my life. At times, I can feel like I am barely keeping my head above water as I take care of all of the people and things in my life that need doing and taking care of. This weekend, I was so blessed to be able to hear some motivational speakers give speeches that were geared just to women. One of them said something that resonated with me. She said, “Sometimes, we have the misperception that balance is doing everything perfectly and we need to just let that perception go, because it won’t happen.” I realized right then, that I have been working so hard to obtain what I THOUGHT was balance…I wanted to do it ALL perfectly! She was right, I cannot do everything perfectly (unfortunately…haha
). So, today, I am making a list of the things I want to do really well. Then, I am going look at how I am spending my time and see how it matches up with this list and make some changes where it’s necessary. I want to make sure that I am spending time on the most important things and doing them well! The things I am spending time on that aren’t quite as important, will need to go (this does not mean that I will stop eating ice cream while watching American Idol each time it’s on, but I might need to multi-task in some other way…like preserving my family’s memories while watching AI…haha…because being a good memory keeper is very important to me).
I would like to invite you to join me in this challenge to find some BALANCE in your life, not perfection, but BALANCE! I think we all might find that with just a little adjusting, we are doing a much better job than we thought!

P.S. The Digi Files 3 will not being going up for sale today, so if you haven’t grabbed TDF2 yet, you have one last chance!
P.P.S. Janet here — just walked in the door — 4:30 pm Sunday my time, 5:30 am Sunday EDT. A quick update — we are home from the hospital (where we had no internet service). The doctors have ruled out dengue fever and thyphoid, for which we are very thankful. However, she still has a high fever (staying between 102 and 104) and no explanation for it and no other symptoms (other than headaches). We didn’t feel that the hospital was doing very much for her and so once we knew for sure that it wasn’t dengue fever (a fairly common and occurrence where we live) we decided to bring her home. We are hoping that in a few days it will just run its course. It the meantime, we will just do what we can to keep her rested and hope that the fever stays down. I really don’t like that 104 range!
Thank you to everyone for your notes, thoughts, and prayers. It means a lot to us!

Thoughts and prayers to you. I had dengue when I lived in Honduras years ago and it was horrible! Best wishes for a speedy recovery.
make sure she gets plenty of calcium. my youngest had a fever-induced seizure. When I mentioned it a doctor friend, he said when your body has a fever it burns up calcium. It needs the calcium to keep the nerves firing the right way. So, long story short, calcium will help prevent a fever induced seizures. (We use a calcium lactate that is very “crush-able” and add the crushed powder to juice, then shake well.)
I’ve missed coming by for the last few days, and I’m so sorry to hear this about your daughter Janet. I will be keeping her in my prayers…and that the fever will come down quickly!
Hugs and prayers for your family.
Janet, I hope she gets to feeling better soon.
Hugs & lots of prayers & postive thoughts coming your way.
My 4 year old had the ‘fever’ virus in January. (around 103.5 for 3 days)..then it just went away. Another friend’s 11 year old son did the same thing, but a week later, came down with strep. Weird little bugs all over the place! Your family has been on my heart all weekend. I will continue to pray for healing and for you to get some rest.
How difficult to have so much happen and to have no real explanation. I’m glad that you were able to bring your sweetie home. Take care of her and yourselves!!
((Hugs)) to all of you and I hope your daughter simply has a fever. Hope it gets out of that 104 zone soon.
I’m glad they have ruled things out, but I know it must be frustrating for your family to not have answers. I will continue to keep your family in my prayers
Hope they figure out what it is. My prayers are with you and your family.
Janet… So good to hear they’ve ruled out some of the scary stuff! I’m not sure if you’ve used Ibuprofen, it’s an amazing fever reducer! Hugs and prayers for all of you.
Oh Janet, I am sorry your daughter is sick. I will be keeping your family in my thoughts.
Janet: I’m so glad to hear a update. We’ve had really bad headaches here for 3 days followed by a cold. I can totally sympathize w/ your family. Still praying that she gets better soon.
Steph: was that a WOF conference?
Praying for you and Alaina-I pray for a quick healing and wisdom for you and Jason in decision making. It can be so scary in a foreign country! Be comforted!
I’m so sorry to her about your daughter! Our prayers and thoughts are with your family
Prayers are still coming your way Hugs and Blessings!
Sending up prayers for a quick recovery.
Hugs and prayers for your daughter and all of your family at this worrying time.
Oh I’m so sorry, I will def. keep your daughter in my thoughts and prayers and hope you find what’s wrong soon (((HUGS)))
Oh my goodness Janet, you all will definitely be in my prayers!
Did they do a lumbar puncture (not sure if that is something they do there)? to test for menangitis? I had the viral kind one time and had a huge headache with it, but they only knew it from the LP (or spinal tap). Can she move her head down to her chest? That is one of the symptoms I know (although I could do it anyway). You all are in my prayers today! Oh and BTW it could just be a random virus too, DS#2 had a high fever and no other cold symptoms etc and it was just a virus, so prayers that is all it is!!
