So Very Happy

Bright colors, fun patterns, whimiscial and wonderful. Everything in this it makes me so very happy! Enjoy scrapping your happiest memories!

I liked the font I chose for my title work but when I typed out the numbers, the 7 had a line through it. I don’t really care for that look so I duplicated the text layer and simplified it. I hid the original layer, just in case I would have to do some editing at some point. Next, I erased the offending line. Finally, I attached a white paper to the simplified text layer so it would have the same texture as the base later. This page will be a title page for a new album.

I wanted to add just a little more word art to the “Let’s Go on an Adventure” title so I erased the white background and border from the “my kind of day” journal spot and using the pull-down menu in PSE, choose the Glass Button effect to give a normal font that epoxy/bubble paint look.

To use the journaling card as a frames, I used my Polygonal Lasso Tool to isolate the brackets, then used the LAYER>NEW LAYER VIA CUT command (CMD+OPT+SHIFT+J). Then I was able to use the card portion as a clipping mask for my photos.

I find All About Me pages hard to do because I don’t know what to journal about or what to use for the picture. This one was easy, even if it doesn’t tell anything super deep about myself and just that for one day I liked my new haircut!

I remember the days when I would buy a whole role of black and white film just for my pictures to turn out black and white. How wonderful that now we have so many different options of digital filters that we can put on our pictures before printing them so they turn out “just right”. In the original picture, my daughter and I are wearing matching maroon sweatshirts, but that color didn’t match the colors of this kit. So, a simple few clicks of the mouse, and my photo is now black and white – working perfectly with this kit, and I haven’t lost the original with color for any future page I might want to create with it!
