We all have our stories to tell and we are all on different pages and chapters. But we do have a story worth telling, and that is what our first kit, Storyteller, is all about. A simple color palette lets the story jump off the page. Don’t wait…start telling your story today.

These photos are from my daughter’s SnapChat that my other daughter screen shot. She’s on the other side of the world going to college and I love getting a little peek into her study space and what she considers important. I’m normally not a fan of kits with few colors but this one works nicely because of the busy papers. Keeping it more monochromatic with just a little color keeps it from becoming overwhelmingly busy. The heart is taken from a background paper using the Magic Select tool and then using the Select pull down menu, choose Modify>Expand. I used 10 pixels to grab enough of the surrounding green. What was on paper now is a cute little element.

The red shoes in the background of my focal point picture were very distracting so I got rid of them! Using my clone tool, I held down the option key and clicked nearby in the picture to select some background to overlay over the offending shoes. I’ve found that you have to click several times to keep the brush looking natural. I think this technique works best on backgrounds that are already quite variegated, like the grass in this picture.

I loved the monochromatic style of this kit for this heritage photo. It is modern and classic all at the same time!

I had fun finding and old picture of me to place alongside a more recent one. Sometimes, when telling our stories, it really helps to pull photos across years or generations. Though most of my pages are still chronological, it’s still fun to scrap outside of those timeframes by combining old and new photos.

It’s easy to think that it is the big moments are the ones that define us. That can certainly be true, but more often than not, our stories are being told during the everyday, seemingly insignificant moments. It has always been my desire to use my camera to capture all the little moments that make life so big.
