Hi, I’m Cathrine and I design as Paper Garden Projects.
I live outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with my husband, three daughters (two are twins) and a large white dog named Chesterton (Chester for short). My mother also lives with us. In my spare time I love to garden. I have many (some would say too many) flower garden beds, a big vegetable garden and fruit trees. I’m contemplating getting some chickens (and welcome any advice about that). I like to bake and I do other kinds of art like pottery and painting.

The Delightful Dwelling Birdhouse box was one of my favorite projects to create. I’ve used this cutting file to make gift boxes and I’ve also used the birdhouse for a spring display on my fireplace mantel. The papers here are from the
Hearts and Flowers kit.

I started by illustrating rubber stamps, which led to a line of digital “stamps” on my personal site. From there, I learned how to make digital scrapbooking kits. Then I discovered digital cutting files and was well and truly hooked on designing.

I love creating hybrid projects and I get a thrill out of the fact that I can hold a cupcake box or greeting card in my hand – and it all started out as an idea in my head and pixels on a screen. All it takes is a little printer ink, some presentation paper and some glue – and its almost endless what you can create.

I get much of my inspiration from my garden and I think nearly all of my kits have flowers in them. I like doodling and sketching so my kits always have some hand drawn elements. I also include a fair number of flat, paper-like elements because they are so easy to use to make the physical craft projects that I love.

Computer: I use a PC (Dell desktop) and have a huge monitor that I love. And, I just bought myself a new Wacom tablet – so exciting. And of course I have my beloved Cameo digital cutter. Love that thing.

Program: I love to work in Adobe Illustrator. All my products start there and I finish them off in Photoshop.

Camera: I have a Nikon D3000 that sadly mainly stays on auto.

Anything Else: I also use my Epson printer for my hybrid projects. I print on presentation paper so my prints come out nice and vibrant.

I use a Silhouette Cameo for digital cutting.

Digital supplies are so versatile and can be used in so many different ways. I like using my digital kits and cutting files to make home decor items. I’ve made wreathes, canvases, candle holders, lanterns – all kinds of things.

This is one of my favorite scrap kits, I think because it taps into the engineering side of my brain (I was a Chemical Engineer for 13 years). I love info-graphics and thought it might be fun to scrap some pages in info-graphic style. So I came up with a big bundle of info-graphic icons and flowcharts and stuff.

My most popular product is actually a digital cutting file set. I created these little valentine cards for my own use and for a friend to sell as an add-on in her store. I like that they are sweet and simple and can be used by anyone.
