Full disclosure: I will spend National Scrapbooking Day and the whole weekend shopping the sales, downloading and organizing my new goodies. I’ve already got my wishlists started and I’m ready for it!

But, in the lead-up to National Scrapbooking Day, I’ve been a busy scrapper, making page after page. That’s the best way to celebrate – especially while binge watching Grey’s Anatomy. I’ve been having a blast!

I’ve made a bunch of pages, mostly cluster style, and enjoyed the challenge of working with so many layers and resizing things to get it all just so. It’s creative fun! I made them using products that won’t be released until this weekend though so I can’t share them…

Which means that for this post, I set out to make a page that I could share! I came across a photo of my little big boy on the swing that was just calling out to be scrapped. I didn’t want to embellish it or hide it under leaves and stars and ribbons. So I made this super simple page with just a few papers and word art and lots of journaling. The photo is prominent and it makes me smile.

It’s funny that the one page I made to share is so different in style from the other pages I’ve made this week. There are many ways to approach scrapbooking and none of them are right or wrong – it’s all memory keeping and it’s all good. That’s why I love this hobby!

So, whether your style is full of luxurious layers or pared-down minimalist, or something in between, I hope you find the time to celebrate this great hobby of ours by making a page (or two or ten)!
