Meet Monica

BIO: Hi! My name is Monica. I’m a mom to three monsters and a wife to a busy medical student. We are a traveling family originally from Utah but more recently Missouri, now Michigan. Hopefully someday we’ll head West again. I love all things crafty. I’ve been a scrapbooker for 15 years and was introduced to digi scrapping in 2008 by my friend Rachael (you can find her on the team here too). I was amazed by her gorgeous pages and the no mess way to scrapbook. I learned everything as fast as I could. I couldn’t get enough! I joined the Jessica Sprague Creative Team and had the pleasure of learning and working with that team for 3 years. Besides scrapbooking, I love photography, baking (cupcake anyone?), and recently completed my first half marathon.

Layered Templates: I’m a big fan of The Queen of Quirk’s Scrap Canvas series, I also have quite the collection of In the Making Designs. Love her clean lines.

Stitching and Staples: I’m always on the lookout for really good stitches and staples. Love Anna’s stitches the best!

Kraft Paper– Love!!!

Fonts: Traveling Typewriter Font, Bebas, and good ole Century Gothic

Brushes: I love messy grungy brushes to use on my backgrounds.

MY STYLE: I’m a go with flow kind of gal. I’m not sure if I could put a finger on my style. When I go through my gallery though I notice I usually lean toward a one photo layout and use a lot of clean lines.

MY SCRAPPING IDOL(S): There is so much eye candy in the digi world. There are a few ladies I am amazed by over and over again though; Rachael Sheedy, Miki Krueger, and Mindy Pitcher. All three I had the privilege to create with on the Jessica Sprague CT. Check them out if you can, it’s serious eye candy.

WHY I AM EXCITED TO BE ON THE TEAM: I am so giddy about having the opportunity to be on this team. I’m really excited about the opportunity to work with so many awesome designers and new products. How lucky am I?!

MY FAVORITE LAYOUT: This layout just speaks to me. I love the subdued colors, clean lines, and the minimal accents. The photo is priceless too. It’s fun to see my kids doing the same things I did as a child. I spent many hours following around my Dad in that garden.

Meet Sula

BIO: Living as an expat in Asia; teaching at a university; Scrapping since 2009

5 PRODUCTS I CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT: Stitches, brushes, alphas, flowers, fonts

MY STYLE: Eclectic with a preference for lots of white space

MY SCRAPPING IDOLS: Too many; I love to draw inspiration from lots of different scrappers and sources

WHY I AM EXCITED TO BE ON THE TEAM: I’m excited because I get to work with the products of a wide range of designers, and because I have to stretch myself by coming up with ideas for the playbook.

Meet Jen

BIO:My name is Jennifer, I am jemenifer22 everywhere in digi-land. I’m a transplanted New Orleanian living in Seattle and I try to go home as often as I can. I have two wonderful kids who make my life complete! I have an amazing husband who is very supportive of my digi-habit! I love being creative, and to me that’s scrapbooking, sewing, painting, art journaling, cooking and even coloring with my kids makes me happy! The most important thing to know about me, is that I love to laugh and have fun!

1. ALPHAS!! Most important – I’ve been known to buy a kit solely based on the alphas;
2. Splatters/Smears/Graffiti – I love how these “fill in” a page;
3. Ribbons/Strings – a really good curly ribbon or string can give such depth to a page;
4. Leaves – they help balance all of the flowers; and
5. Scatters – I love the added touch of something sprinkled around my clusters.

MY STYLE: I typically love all styles, from busy to simple, but I think I tend to lean more towards the “everything in the center of the page” approach!

MY SCRAPPING IDOL(S): My all time fav has and will always be Bec, her pages are just jaw dropping! Running in a close second is scrapper@heart, love her cluster and shadow style!!

WHY I AM EXCITED TO BE ON THE TEAM: I LOVE this industry, everything about it!! I love the fact that at the core of it, its everyday working Moms who are just as passionate about it as I am! I just want to climb the highest mountain and shout out to the world how amazing digital scrapbooking is!! I think being on The Daily Digi team… is a step on that mountain!!

Meet Marin

BIO: As a graphic designer for the last 20+ years (don’t ask me how that’s possible when I’m only 29), I’ve spent the last 9 years of my career designing for the scrapbooking and digital scrapbooking industries, and I couldn’t be happier to contribute to the joyful, purposeful world of memory keepers. After ten years of operating an award-winning design firm, Barney McKay Design Group, alongside my husband (also a designer), I became an art director for several memory keeping publications, including Simple Scrapbooks, Creating Keepsakes, and Digital Scrapbooking Magazine. Currently the Creative Director for Heritage Makers, I’m 110% supportive of the digital movement within the memory keeping industry, and am so happy to rub shoulders with the creative gals here at The Daily Digi. I’m ever-inspired!

  1. My MacBook Pro
  2. Adobe InDesign
  3. Adobe Photoshop
  4. Adobe Illustrator
  5. My iPhone

MY STYLE: Clean. Simple. (Cathy Zielske and I are BFFs on that point. In fact, we may secretly be twins that were split at birth. Investigation still underway.)

Meet Vicki

BIO: Hello all, I’m Vicki Bridges otherwise known as Mizbizibee. Even though I love digi, I’m also a paper artist and have been for years. I teach rubber stamping classes, art journaling and card making in central Oklahoma. After recovering from back surgery in 2011 I decided to do something that wasn’t work related and just for me. I made the move to return to memory keeping after a five year break and do it digi style this time. I purchased Photoshop Elements then after a brief Google search I found the Daily Digi. I seriously doubt a day goes by that I don’t consult the Daily Digi. I live in central Oklahoma with my ever-faithful and never-boring hubby Tom and our extended family that includes two grand kiddlets live nearby.

5 P

Templates, they are a great time saving springboard and don’t be afraid to make them your own. I like neutral papers, brushes are a must, ribbons and word art is huge for me. Word art will make me buy the kit every time!

I’m rather eclectic without a lot of embellishment but first and for most I rely on good design. I want balance and yet a nice flow from one design element to another. The photos and journaling are the stars and I want them to shine, digi embellishments should only play a supporting role and never overpower the photos and story.

Queen Ali reigns supreme and I have learn volumes from her and her classes. I’m admirer of Cathy Zielske and Katie Pertiet even though their styles are such opposites.

TDD has taught me so much about the art of memory keeping and working in Photoshop Elements. But it goes deeper, as a working artist TDD has helped me to feel connected with other artists and inspired even though my day job is in actual paper verse digi paper. To be a part of this community is a privilege and yes I admit it, a validation of my work. I have found the mother ship!

Meet Trina

BIO: You might know me as tjscraps in the digital world, but at home I’m called mommy by the adorable girl that stars in most of my pages. Married since 2006 to my best friend, I work full time as a payroll specialist and I try to scrap almost daily. I got the paper scrapping bug in 1998-ish, switched to digi in 2006 and haven’t looked back since.

  1. Striped papers. If there is a striped paper in a kit, I will use it!

    2. Templates. It’s rare when I scrap without a template! My current faves include Sara Gleason, Two Tiny Turtles and Fiddle Dee Dee Designs.

    3. Chunky alphas

    4. Flowers, flowers and more flowers!

    5. Paint splatters or bubble wrap marks – anything to mess up the cluster a bit!

MY STYLE: “Clusterific” with white space – I like to cluster but I don’t like to use the whole page up. I like using a lot of patterned papers and I love to include journaling on my page.

MY SCRAPPING IDOL(S): Cheryl (aka gonewiththewind), Kelleanne and Gloria

WHY I AM EXCITED TO BE ON THE TEAM: Before joining the team, I had purchased every single digi files there was, so I was so excited that I ‘had’ to work with them now (what a hardship!). I love being introduced to new-to-me designers and all the info that the site has for new and old scrappers alike.

This is ever changing, but at the moment it is this one:

Meet Heddy

BIO: I have been scrapping since late 2006 when my daughter was just a tiny baby. I started to take more photos around that time (as does every first-time Mom, I’m sure!) and then needing something to do with all those photos, I somehow discovered digital scrapbooking.

My daughter is in school now. It makes my heart happy when I see her flipping through the scrapbook albums and when she asks me to tell her the stories on each page. That’s why I scrapbook!

Stitches by Anna Aspnes – they are messy and fun and so realistic!
Templates by Sara Gleason – perfectly balanced and are great “as is” or heavily embellished.
Fonts by Darcy Baldwin – my go-to fonts for journaling!
Papers by Zoe Pearn – such wonderful colours and patterns. Perfection!
Shadows by One Little Bird Designs- the only way I shadow because it’s “one click” and done!

I am a paper-style speed scrapper. I have two little kids so I don’t have tons of time to tinker with my pages. I pick a kit, do a quick sketch (or choose a template), drop in the photos, the journaling and the date, and then I add some elements, give it a final tweak, and call it a day! I spend at most about an hour per page.

Tronesia has such great style which she combines with stunning photography. Definitely an inspiration!

I have been a daily reader since the day The Daily Digi opened! Seriously — it’s on my homepage tabs so I can’t possibly miss it! I’ve never missed a Digi Files issue either. I have found so many awesome designers (and stores) through the Digi Files that I otherwise would never have known. I love that TDD promotes learning tricks and tips to maximize how to use all those great scrapbooking supplies.

Meet Heather

BIO: Hi! I’m heather. I’ve been around the digi works for about two and a half years. I live in Texas with my husband and best friend, and two dogs (paco the chihuahua and fiona the westie puppy). I spend my days working at the Apple Store as a creative which means I get to teach people all about the ins and outs of their computers. in my digi life, I make fonts over at the-lilypad, I ct for a few designers I love and adore, and now I get to pin for TDD. Score!

1. Templates by Amy Martin, Crystal Livesay, Sara Gleason, and Valorie Wibbens. These ladies are seriously amazing and composition and arrangement. Even if it is just looking at the empty template for inspiration, they are my loves.

2. Shadow styles by Jenn Barrette, One Little Bird Designs, and Sahlin Studio. Did you know these three ladies all use the same angle?! Score! While I mostly hold tight to Krista’s set I keep all three loaded to add a little difference to similar items on pages. (Organized alphabetically by item buttons, paper, stitching, etc.) Also Peppermint’s washi tape tutorial… brilliant!

3. My fonts. That seems like a shameless plug, but really… being able to have my handwriting on my pages is one of my most favorite things ever! But every now and then I switch to one, like right now I am S-T-U-C-K! on The Amy. I love it’s diversity and ability to look totally different when using it in all lowercase or all uppercase.

4. Alphas and Words. Doodles and Doodads: CD Muckosky, amazing realistic crafty alphas and word art that will blow your mind; Designs by Lili, I reuse her alphas like they going out of style (which they never would); Jacque Larsen, Kate Hadfield, and Kaye Winieceki, painted, penclied, markered, doodled alphas and word strips (again all amazing and seriously reusable); Lauren Grier, Lauren Reid, Valorie Wibbens, and The Tattered Pear; handwritten words… forgetaboutit, never another desire or need to wish you could write something on a page… these ladies have you covered! Also little doodads! I love them all!

5. Crafty Handmade Goodness. I fell in love with digital scrapbooking when I discovered that it could look like these two hands could have made it… but without the use of a mouse. There are so many designers that are amazing at drawing, sewing, crafting, painting, and yada yada yadaing. Then they scan, photograph, and extract to the most amazing goodies that fall perfectly onto pages.

MY STYLE: umm… I like to leave a lot of white space on pages. But then I also like to pile a bunch of stuff onto pages. I love blocky paper layouts. And photo-less pages. And keeping it as ‘real’ as possible. So what would you call that? Oh and crafty stuff, I love my pages to look crafty!

MY SCRAPPING IDOL(S): Valorie, Jordan, Crystal, Debra, and Jacque

WHY I AM EXCITED TO BE ON THE TEAM: There are so many amazing designers, pages, and resources out there in scrapland and I get to pin them all and share them all with the Pintrest community. Plus hanging out with The Daily Digi team members is AWESOME! Talk about a wealth of knowledge. I’m pretty sure they could use it to take over the world, but in a good way of course. One that includes nap time and scrap time for all!

Why? Because it combines my love of clean lines with a more embellished worked. It took me a long time to find that balance!
