Meet LulyG

BIO: Hi! My name is Luly G and I live in a suburb of Chicago and work in downtown Chicago full time as an Architect. I am married to the funniest man in the world for the last 24 years. We have 2 college boys – 21 and 19 that are super involved in music and sports still! We love to travel as a family – mostly long car rides but we have been fortunate to go to Europe twice in the last 4 years and travel a bit for work as well! Travel pages are at the top of my list this year since we just returned from a big trip.

I’ve been a scrapper since 1997 but exclusively paper. I started digi collecting in 2013 and watching tutorials but only started digi scrapping in Jan 2014. I LOVE being able to work quickly with current photos and include memorabilia. I am running out of shelf space and probably will move to printed books this year instead of printed pages.

We have 2 funny dogs at home so my DH and I don’t get too lonely with the empty nest. I love to take pictures and document all the fun places we go, as well as taking tons of pictures with my family.

5 PRODUCTS I CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT: Stitched grid templates, Patterned paper, buttons, journal cards and fun fonts! I even had my own handwriting made into a font recently – that will probably become my new default.

MY STYLE: I love templates! Since I am an architect I definitely like rectilinear hence why I have totally embraced pocket scrapping!

MY SCRAPPING IDOL(S): Chelle, Just Jaimee, Traci Reed, Krista Sahlin, and new loves Amber LaBau and Sara Gleason

WHY I AM EXCITED TO BE ON THE TEAM: I am so, so honored to have been selected – I have been a member of the Daily Digi before I even started Digi scrapping…crazy right? I love the variety that I get every month in the Files and it really pushes me to try new things. I can’t wait to work with different and fresh designers every month.

Meet KimberlyK

BIO: Hey there, I’m Kimberly Kalil from sunny Southern Arizona. I’m a work-like-crazy mama to two kiddos Shelby and Cooper (7-year-old and 2-year-old respectively). I’m a wife to a very patient, loving accountant (Mike). I love my family (a bit obsessively if you must know). I love to steal kisses from my baby boy and hang out with my big girl. My husband is my best friend and we have such a fabulous time together. I travel for business. A lot. I work (from home) as a consultant for a Danish company that makes software for newspapers. This means I travel to newspapers around the world and train their staff to use our content management and design system. I have a degree in journalism and spent many years as a writer and editor before my current job. Writing has always been my first love… still is. I adore anything creative. I scrap. I sew. I paint. I take as many pictures as I can. I spend a lot of my free time working on crafty sorts of projects. I’ve been paper scrapping since college, but recently converted to digi (about 10 months ago). With my crazy life and busy travel schedule digi works better for me. Plus, I have spent so much of my work life using design programs such as Photoshop and InDesign … it feels more natural to me to be creating in this environment. You can find me at my blog, This Kalil Life and you can see my latest layouts on Flicker (kimberlykalil). Come on over. Leave a comment. I {heart} comments.

MY SCRAPPING IDOL(S): I have way too many to list. I love looking at oodles of pages and seeing how different each person choose to tell his or her story.

WHY I AM EXCITED TO BE ON THE TEAM: Why not? The Daily Digi is always packed with great inspiration and it’s seriously the best deal. Where else can you get so many digi supplies for such a great (low) price? Love it.

Meet Judie

  1. Realistic Leaves
  2. Stitches
  3. Paint
  4. Brushes
  5. Wooden frames

MY STYLE: The best description of my digital style is “clustered art.” I love filling pages with elements and watching it come to life with realistic shadowing. That being said, I also love trying new styles and techniques and am always looking for ways to grow my digital art and keep it fresh and exciting.

MY SCRAPPING IDOL(S): I get my inspiration from everywhere and everyone in the digital world. My idols are people who step outside of their creative box and try new things.

WHY I AM EXCITED TO BE ON THE TEAM: The team is amazing and I have always been an admirer and the designers, I love getting to know new to me designers!

MY FAVORITE LAYOUT: This is my current favorite layout. First and foremost, I love the message on this page. Design-wise, the realistic clustering, bright colors popping off the dark background and sparkly goodness of the light elements just make me happy.

Meet JillW

BIO: Hello! I’m Jill Williams and live in rural northern Illinois. My husband and I have been married for 34 years. We enjoy a very relaxed country lifestyle away from any large cities. Our son and daughter in law have a beautiful eighteen month old daughter and are expecting another baby (a boy!!) in June! (To me, there is something so very special about being a grandparent that I can’t even put it into words!! It is amazing!!) I’ve been digital scrapping since 2006. It is part of who I am today. My heart is warmed knowing that pages I create today will be cherished by family and friends years from now. I hope they can feel the same joy when they look through the pages that I had when I created them! During the spring, summer and fall, when I’m not scrapping, you will find me tending to my flower garden or watching the countryside slip by from the back of our motorcycle. We enjoy taking motorcycle trips through Northern Illinois, Southern Wisconsin and Eastern Iowa. During the winter you will find me parked in front of the computer, counting the days until spring!!

  1. Flower and leaf elements
  2. Paint splatters
  3. String
  4. Photo or background masks
  5. Flairs

MY STYLE: I tend to create ‘clean’ pages, usually not completely filled with elements. I like clean lines and most of my pages have at least fifty percent white space.

MY SCRAPPING IDOL(S): Jenn’s (aka Catgoddess) pages never cease to amaze me!!

WHY I AM EXCITED TO BE ON THE TEAM: I’m excited to able to reach out across the globe to others that love digital scrapping as much as I do! I have been a member of TDD on and off for years and I am always thrilled with the different designers that are spotlighted each month!

Meet JenniferV

BIO: I’m Jennifer, also called Jen by those who know me. I’ve been married to my high school sweetheart, Tom, for 12 years, and we’ve been together 17. We have 5 sons, ages 13, 10, 6, 4, and 2, and we are eagerly awaiting the arrival of baby #6 in April (our first surprise gender baby). I came to digital scrapbooking because of a love of photography. I had been studying photography with my fancy DSLR for a year before I realized, “What am I going to do with all these great photos?” I stumbled upon digi-scrapping while planning our first vacation to Walt Disney World, and the rest is history. I love completing albums and having tangible photo books for my kids to see. When not scrapbooking or photographing, I’m reading – attempting to complete 1 novel a week this year – and maintaining our crazy household.

  1. Word art – I love easy titles
  2. Foliage – I love the dimension they give the page
  3. Templates – Staring at a blank page is intimidating! With so many kids and limited time, I like to be able to create quickly. Templates make it easy for me to complete my goals!
  4. Shadow Styles – I have around 5 different sets from 5 different designers, and they help create realistic pages that don’t look so static with their shadows
  5. Kraft papers or other neutrals, especially tone-on-tones

MY STYLE: I think of myself as a storyteller. While I love the very artistic layouts I see, I scrapbook to preserve my family’s memories. So my layouts, though they may vary as far as being simple or clustery, are always telling a story and preserving a memory.

MY SCRAPPING IDOL(S): There are so many I admire! I love perusing galleries, but there’s no one person I follow extensively.

WHY I AM EXCITED TO BE ON THE TEAM: I found the Daily Digi soon after I found digital scrapbooking, and I signed up fairly quickly. I love the challenge of using kits/designers that maybe wouldn’t necessarily appeal to me on first glance, but once I open the kit or template, it surprises me and stretches me as an artist.

MY FAVORITE LAYOUT: I made this layout for my oldest’s last birthday – his 13th. I really
had to coerce him to take those photos, but I know someday he’ll thank
me for them, and for writing down my feelings about him. I actually got
the idea for the title from a TDD blog post!

Meet JackieC

BIO: I was born and raised in South Carolina but we are currently living in Pensacola, FL (and moving to Puerto Rico this summer!) My husband is a pilot in the USCG and I have a 5 year old son.

  1. Templates
  2. drop shadow styles by Mommyish (and they’re free!)
  3. Florabella actions for photos
  4. my giant font library
  5. and last but not least, my iPhone for picture taking

MY STYLE: I love symmetry and color, and most of all details. I love being able to look at a page for hours and just looking at all the little elements. I like a layout to “breathe”… nothing too cluttered, but not so minimal that I start getting cluster withdrawals.

MY SCRAPPING IDOL(S): Karla Dudley is my scrapping hero! I love her tutorials as well!

WHY I AM EXCITED TO BE ON THE TEAM: I always look forward to drooling over the Playbook that is included in each kit and I’ve been that way for years. I am so thrilled that I can contribute and work with some talented designers and scrappers!

Meet Bethany

BIO: I am currently a stay-at-home mom to my 2 kiddos – Carly (12) and Andrew (11). We live in a small city in the Washington desert (yes, it really does exist!) where my husband is serving as a high school and college pastor. I grew up in Southeast Asia and had the privilege to spend 5 years back “home” with my family working as a high school counselor at a small international school. I love traveling and am so thankful that I get to continue to do so even with my husband’s new job, as we are privileged to take youth teams overseas every summer! I have been scrapbooking since I graduated from high school – just over 20 years! I switched from paper to digi in 2008 after moving to a tropical country and realizing the detriment that humidity would have on my paper products. I have not looked back since making the switch and absolutely LOVE everything about digiscrapping 🙂 I often jump in on challenges at different stores or sometimes at the Digi Dares to learn new techniques and push myself to explore different styles and areas of digiscrapping that I haven’t tried before.

5 PRODUCTS I CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT: Templates – My biggest and scariest challenges have been the ones requiring me to create a page from scratch – no template allowed. Other than that, I am happy to play with what I have 🙂

MY STYLE: As stated above, I use templates religiously, so my style tends to vary depending on the template I’m using. However, I tend to lean towards the clean & simple / linear style. I would love to be able to be freer in my creativity and work towards an art journaling style, but haven’t made that step in my everyday layouts just yet.

MY SCRAPPING IDOL(S): Janet Phillips! She’s actually the main reason I’ve been following the Daily Digi since day 1 and why I jumped at the chance to join this team. I absolutely adore her simple templates and the pages she creates with them are so perfectly balanced every time 🙂

WHY I AM EXCITED TO BE ON THE TEAM: Oh my goodness! I feel like I’ve joined an exclusive club 🙂 I have been following the Daily Digi since its beginning way back in January 2009. I’ve listened faithfully to every episode of the Digi Digest when it was airing and to know that I’m now working alongside such fun, talented, and creative people just blows my mind! I love the diversity of kits and templates that are featured every month and can’t wait to play with them so that more people can catch the vision of this super fun and important craft.

MY FAVORITE LAYOUT: I participated in the Lilypad’s Month of Challenges this past January
for the second year in a row. I would strongly encourage anyone who
wants to learn new techniques and grow in their skills and talent to
participate in the various challenges that are out there every month in
the digiscrapping world. This layout is one that I created for a Title
Work challenge and I just love how it turned out.

Meet Cheryl

BIO: My name is Cheryl Ashcraft and I’m a native Floridian living in Northwest Florida on the Gulf Coast. My husband Jay and I have been married for over twenty years. We have two children, Olivia and Daniel.I love to scrapbook digitally, and I also create digital templates for scrapbookers. When I’m not taking pictures, scrapbooking, or designing templates, you’ll find me tending to my home. I love to decorate and keep a quiet and tranquil space for us to have as a retreat. I also love to make pen and ink drawings, and have started experimenting with watercolors. I love to read so you’ll usually find me on my phone or Kindle or with an old school book, and every once in a while I’ll still break out my cross stitching.

  1. Paint . . . splatters, drips, watercolor smears . . . all of it I love!
  2. Word strips.
  3. Word art. Makes titling my page so easy.
  4. Flowers and leaves.
  5. Arrows, chevrons, and other directional elements.

MY STYLE: Messy yet clean, excessive yet controlled. I’m not sure if there is a name for that.

MY SCRAPPING IDOL(S): I’m really inspired by so many different scrappers that I can’t list just one. And I have to say that I don’t really have an idol anymore. I think I’ve gotten to the point where I love enjoying the beauty of other layouts, but I no longer look at a single scrapper’s layouts and think, gee, I wish I could scrap like that. And believe me, there were many, many years when I did have idols. I’m in a season where I’m comfortable and content with what I create.

WHY I AM EXCITED TO BE ON THE TEAM: I have been a subscriber for a long time, as well as a contributor to The Digi Files. I’m always inspired by the layouts and numerous articles to help scrappers learn and grow. I am excited to be on the team because I would love to give back to the community.

MY FAVORITE LAYOUT: This is my favorite layout for 2015 (so far anyway). First, it has my cat, and awww, I want to squishy her. Second, I love all the word strips. Third, and final, it’s clean but a bit messy too with paint splatters and drips.

  1. Flowers and leaves in general
  2. patterned papers
  3. staples and staples
  4. paint
  5. all kinds of templates

MY STYLE: My style is all over the place, cause I don’t have just one style, I can make a page very clean and simple, but I also love to use lots of papers and clustering.

MY SCRAPPING IDOL(S): That would be Jenn aka catgoddes and Sheri aka SeattleSheri

WHY I AM EXCITED TO BE ON THE TEAM: The team is amazing and I have always been an admirer and the designers, I love getting to know new to me designers!
