Mye De Leon Somerset

So happy to be welcoming back Mye De Leon to The Digi Files! I instantly fell in love with Mye’s designs when I very first saw them several years ago. It’s been so fun to see her style evolve over the years and I have loved it all! I love Mye’s modern, clean, reatro, yet whimsical, style. I always love her word art, phrases, and sayings she includes in her kits. I really enjoyed visiting with Mye about her family, her design process, how her style has evolved over the years, and some projects she is working on. You can listen below (on the site), download here, or subscribe in iTunes:

Let’s take a closer look at “Somerset” that is included in

Hi! My name is Mye and I have been designing digital scrapbook kits since 2009. I have a wide array wide array of digital scrapbook products that caters to digital scrappers, pocket scrapbookers and hybrid crafters. I love bright colors, neutrals and bold patterns. My design style is a mix of shabby, linear, eclectic and I love incorporating dimensional elements in my kits to add a bit of fun!

I’m also a mom to my twin girls, Scieszka and Elysia and our youngest, Alphonse. Married to the man I quietly admired and will be celebrating our 10th anniversary this year. When I’m not designing, I’m wearing my domestic goddess hat but I still find time to sneak in some sketching and doodling when my little ones are napping.

What I love about designing is that I get to help people to document their lives. It is a fun, continuous learning process and I find great joy seeing my products being used in so many family albums.

My team and I love to share scrapbooking inspiration, photography tips and tutorials. Feel free to visit my blog if you are ready to learn more about this super fun hobby called digiscrapping. See you there!

I’m doing digital Project Life this year. It is a fun, creative way to document Alphonse’s progress as well as our everyday moments. What I love about this project is that it gives me the opportunity to share the little stories to my children just by simply showing them the album with all the journaling. I’ve never been good at journaling before but with this, it became easier.

Don’t get overwhelmed by other’s accomplishments. Work at your own phase, at your own time. Creating should be fun and if you are worried about your progress because you keep comparing yourself to other scrapper, you are taking away the fun.

I discovered digital scrapbooking in 2007 and it was in 2009 when I started playing more around Photoshop, did some experimenting on a few elements and patterns. I enjoyed it. I got my first shop at My Life and Scrap and everything took off from there.

Color. I am drawn by bright, lively colors.

Computer: Windows 8.1 Intel Core i7, 16Gb RAM and a 24 in” monitor

Program: Photoshop, Illustrator

Camera: Olympus EM-5

Anything Else: Wacom Bamboo Pen and Touch, Cannon Pixma MG6470 Printer/Scanner

Worried that you don’t have a lot of photos for your Project Life week? You can still fill out your page using a single photo. Simply combine all the pocket layers where you want to place your photo (it could be a portion of a spread or the whole spread), place your photo on top of the merged layers and clip it.

Check out my
detailed post.

Unwind is not my usual bold and bright kit but I love soft and muted palette from time to time and this one is a personal favorite because the inspiration is my very own experience. Working at home, taking care of a family and a special needs child is quite a bit of a challenge and I have been longing for some “alone/me” time which I cannot truly have at the moment so I turned all of my emotions and my desire into a kit.

The bright colors! It appeals to every scrapbooker because it’s a versatile collection which you can use to both regular digital layouts and pocket scrappers. The stamps are perfect for hybrid projects and everything is very easy to use and incorporate with other kits too.
