Recite This

I am always on the lookout for fun websites to check out. I get especially giddy when I stumble across something that will actually benefit me (rather than just entertain me!).

A while back I came across the site RECITE THIS. It’s a fun site where you can type in quotes and then you can choose a design. In just the click of the mouse, your quote becomes a masterpiece. I love the idea of being able to use these in scrapping!

When you go to the site, you will see a screen like this:

There is a blank space where you can type in any quote you want. At the bottom you can see all of the different template options (pre-loaded with example quotes.) If you hover over them, you can see them larger.

It’s super easy. Just type in anything you like (I used one of my daughter’s infamous quotes).

Along the bottom you can see how your quote looks in the different template options. I did notice that some options disappear when quotes get long.

When you have decided on the design you want, click the create button.

The final product will come up on the screen along with options of what to do with it. Facebook, Pinterest, download, email, and more!

There were three things that I don’t like about it (but hey, what can you expect from a free program?)

1. You have no control over the font or spacing. Even pressing return doesn’t guarantee you a new line. This made some quotes look funny. You do have control, however, on upper and lower case.

2. The downloaded images are only web-sized. They are definitely not high enough in quality to print and hang on a wall. However, for printing small images (such as for layouts or pocket scrapbooking), they should be fine. I tested it, printing one at 100%, 150%, 200%, and 250% and the quality was definitely acceptable for scrapping.

3. The logo. If I wanted to use these on a layout, I wouldn’t want to logo on it. Thanks to Photoshop skills, I think that most of the time those would be easy to take care of.

It is so much fun to play with. Here are a few I played around with:

You can also click the FIND A QUOTE button and search for quotes by theme.

So, can you see a use for this site in your scrapping? Have you found other fun sites you want to share?

Our members love “Daily Digi Day”! Many of the annual members have
already been downloading for a few hours because they get access when
the calendar changes to a new month. Here’s what our members said in the
comments yesterday:

The DailyDigi and Digi Files has changed my life . . . litterally. I went back through some ‘old’ albums a while back and realized my scrapping style has changed – not once – but several times since I joined. With so many new kits to choose from each month and the tips, tricks, and ideas I receive in the Daily Digi and Podcasts, I’ve branched out and tried so many new things that the pages I created have gone through several style transformations. Just wanted to say thanks for the adventure! -AJ

I have been a subscriber since the beginning and probably always will. The products are top rate and I want to support the “daily” work you do. This month I had a whole weekend to scrap and got so much done. I was constantly referring back to past & current content on The Daily Digi for tips and advice for different techniques etc. And, I kept looking at the Contributor Features to see designer styles and check out their product before buying. Plus at this point I feel like I “know” you and I really enjoy checking in everyday. Thanks for the chance! I can’t wait for tonight. I feel like a ninja downloading early and checking everything out! – Michelle VO

TDF 19 was my first month and I have no plans to ever stop! – Kathy

More than 32 months a member and it just keeps getting better. – Francine
