Documenting Life with Smart Phone Screenshots

More and more we are seeing scrappers using smartphone and smart device screenshots on their layouts to help tell their stories and document their lives. As technology becomes so integrated into our daily lives, it only makes sense that it would be difficult to document large parts of our days, without a few screenshots.

iOS Devices

I know as digital scrappers, we are usually pretty tech savvy, but I’m sure there are readers that might not know how to take a screenshot. This is for YOU <3

On any iDevice, you just push the power button and the home button at the same time. If your sound is turned on, you will hear the camera shutter sound when the screen has been captured. The screen capture can then be found in your Photos.

Android Devices

Android is more tricky as it’s different based on which OS you are running and sometimes, the phone. I found some tutorials for you though:

How to take a screenshot on Android phones: including Galaxy S3/S4, Xperia Z, HTC One and Nexus 4

How to take a screenshot on a Samsung Galaxy, or any other Android device

If your Android device isn’t there, I would suggest Googling “screenshot” along with your phone model. You should be able to easily find instructions that way.

How You Use Screenshots

From weather, to text coversations, schedules, games, apps you love, and how you use them; you are including it all on your layouts through screenshots. Here are some fun examples I found from around Digiland (all layouts are linked to original location
