Make Your Digital Scrapbooking Shine

Litabells’ slightly shabby and weathered look along with her beautiful colors and coordinated papers and elements are sure to make you want to scrap! I love the sophistication found in her kits that make them perfect for an “All About Me” page or a fun day with the family. Let’s take a closer look at “Shine” that is included in The Digi Files this month:

This is ONE of SEVEN collections you get when you become a member of The Digi Game this month. My name is Melita Bloomer, and I live in Melbourne, Australia, with my husband and 2 daughters.

I created this layout using my own kit, Adjust Your Sails, which was designed with the storms of life in mind. I love the slightly grungey, artsy feel to it.
I also used a fantastic Zoliofrope template to create this page, and great tip for personalising templates is to blend the included shapes into your background page, to create an artful, painted look.

I first started scrapbooking after attending a Creative Memories class back in 2003. I discovered the world of digi in 2007 and fell in love with the ease of it and the wide variety of goodies available.

In 2009 I started offering layout sketches as inspiration on my personal bog. After encouragement and much prodding from a good friend, I decided to take the plunge into the design world as a template designer. One thing lead to another and I now create kits, alphas, the works!

I’m very much a mood scrapper/designer. I don’t tend to scrap or design around life’s events, but more so for the everyday moments and emotions.

Computer: I run an ASUS notebook with 4GB of RAM.
Program: Photoshop CS6
Camera: I have a little pink Canon point and shoot, that I haven’t picked up in much too long! I tend to stick with the iphone for pic snapping, since it’s just so convenient, but I do miss the quality of a better camera. Must make more of an effort!
Anything Else: I do have a Wacom tablet, but we’re yet to become friends…I can’t seem to wrap my tiny little mind around it!
My tip would be to not be afraid to scrap the less than great moments. We’re all so keen to document the happy moments, but I think it’s just as important to put down on paper those moments that test and try you.

I designed the Adjust Your Sails bundle when life was throwing a few curveballs my way, and the creative outlet it provided was just what I needed. The theme obviously spoke to me, as did the soft colour palette. I went with a bundle because I’m a big fan of one stop scrapping – having all the goodies there that I need, without having to dig through my stash for anything extra. Life’s hard enough without throwing in extra work lol

My most popular kit is by far Vintage Desktop. I chose the colours for this one based on a bundle of vintage envelopes and ephemera I had sitting on my desk at the time. I think it’s popularity stems from the fun mix of vintage ephemera and scrappy essentials.
