I’m happy to be welcoming Roseytoes to The Digi Files this month! Ryan has a very comfortable style that I call homespun. Her collections remind me of the feelings I get when visiting my childhood stomping grounds; familiar, yet filled with surprises. She really knocks the girl kits out of the park and I love the bold colors she uses in many of them! Let’s take a closer look at “Love Blooms” that is included in The Digi Files this month:
This is ONE of SEVEN collections you get when you become a member of The Digi Game this month. You also get an interactive Playbook (in PDF and iBooks formats) that has lots of ideas for using the supplies including techniques, tips, and tricks! Hi, my name is Ryan and I design under the name Roseytoes Designs. I have been designing for 3 years now. I live in Sacramento, CA and have a boyfriend of 7 years and a 6 year old son, Gavin. I love to design kits and templates as well as other digital scrapbooking items that coordinate with my products. I enjoy spending time with my family as well as doing photography on the side.
I began digital scrapping in 2007 after I had my son because I wanted to do scrapbooking, but didn’t want to haul everything out and make a mess, have my son get into something and have to then scrapbooking and then clean up. Digital was so much easier to do, and so much less time consuming and not nearly as expensive! I decided to take a designing course in the latter part of 2009 and after a lot of encouragement, I started Roseytoes Designs in the beginning of February of 2010 and I haven’t looked back since!
Everything inspires me to create! From a color palette to something that I see from my son or my nieces or nephews. My CT girls also give me a lot of ideas as well, which is wonderful because they are always keeping me busy! 🙂
Computer: I have a Dell PC. I’ve had it since 2007 when I began digital scrapping. I have one large monitor that I use, a 19” that I absolutely love! I don’t ever feel like I have enough RAM, that is one thing that I would really like to upgrade, hopefully soon!
Program: I started designing with PSE7 and now I am currently using PSE9 to design. One day I would really like to upgrade to CS but so far I have been extremely happy with PSE.
Camera: Being that I love cameras and photography, I have had a few. I am very much a Nikon girl!
When I really started getting into taking pictures, I purchased a Nikon P100, not knowing that it wasn’t going to be enough for me. Last year I went all out and bought a Nikon D5100, along with an extra camera lense with an awesome zoom (55mm-300mm)
Anything Else: I am not much of an Apple fan so no i phones, i pads, things like that. I do however love my phone, it’s an android and I pretty much do everything on it! I have my kindle app, FB, internet, Yahoo etc on there so I’m always ready to go no matter where I’m at!
A tip that I love to give out for photography would be to experiment with different settings! If you have a DSLR, spend some time using different modes and settings and see how different your pictures look! It’s amazing the difference a setting makes!
Play around with different lighting as well and see how it affects your camera and the photo. This is something that I have really started working with over the past year and it has helped me out a lot.
Another thing that I suggest for those that like to take pictures, is to not always snap pictures of your subject posing or smiling! I was really big into that for a long time but that doesn’t always show a natural image of the person. Granted a smiling picture is still a good thing, still try to take some candid pictures as well. It will give off a more natural look and really show that persons true beauty! 🙂
This is probably one of my favorite kits because one of my CT members and close friends asked me to design a kit for her daughter’s birthday party. She told me a little about what her daughter liked and her favorite colors and I just ran with it. I created the palette and just went to it. This kit has a lot of meaning to it for that reason and I am really glad that I was able to create it for her.
I think this kit is popular because it’s very lovey dovey. I found the colors online and thought that it would make a great love/romance kit. I really like this kit because it really represents me and my style. I am very happy with the way that it turned out.
