A few months ago, Jumpstart designs was a new-to-me designer, but it didn’t take long for me to see her artistic abilities. She includes plenty of doodles and fun elements in her kits. I also love her plaids, stripes, and dots on her papers! The fact that she uses various shades of lime in many of her kits, brings a smile to my face. Let’s take a closer look at “Daydreamin'” that is included in The Digi Files this month:
This is ONE of SEVEN collections you get when you become a member of The Digi Game this month. You also get an interactive Playbook (in PDF and iBooks formats) that has lots of ideas for using the supplies including techniques, tips, and tricks! All of that, including access to exclusive collaborations every four months you are a member, for only $7.50 total per month! Here are some layouts created using Jumpstart Designs’s contribution:

I guess you could call me a SAHM, although my children are mostly grown now. My oldest daughter is married and expecting my third grandchild in a few months, and my two youngest children are both in their first year of college. I have worked professionally most of my life, but I now get to stay home and enjoy helping with my grandchildren. I turned 50 this last year and the reality that I won’t always be 30 finally set in. My age never bothered me until I received my first AARP card in the mail this year. Ugh! I have always been involved with creative endeavors, so finding digi has been a perfect fit. I get to stay home and do what I love!
I started out as a paper scrapper about 15 years ago. I have a huge stash (more like a store) that is now collecting major dust! In May of 2010, a friend introduced me to digi, and I have been hooked ever since! I started out as a customer and was soon invited to a few creative teams. About a year later, the owner of Pickleberrypop asked if I’d be interested in becoming a designer. Me? Seriously? The only thing I had to reply on was the standard drop-shadow command in PS Elements, and my “mad clustering skills.” I told her I knew nothing about designing (which she quickly found out I wasn’t joking about), but with a little coaching by her and a few other designers, I made my debut with a few sets of templates in July 2011. By the end of the year, I was venturing in to kits, and am fortunate to find myself doing pretty well. I still claim to be pretty digi-stupid, but am getting better every day and feel fortunate that my fans are hanging in there with me during my learning curve! LOL
Color! I find a color scheme I like and go from there. I don’t think I’ve established a typical “Sheri” style yet because different moods tend to inspire different kit styles.
Computer: I run Windows 7 on a gaming computer with lots of video ram, 8 GB of RAM, and four (yes four) 27″ monitors. I hate popping back and forth between windows, so that’s the one thing I’ve spoiled myself with…. lots of design and work space.
Program: I use CS5 Photoshop and Illustrator (still trying to learn both), Dreamweaver for newsletters, and Artrage. I Skype a lot with other designer friends. It’s the closest I can get to the good old paper scrapping days when I used to get together monthly with my scrapping girlfriends.
Camera: At the moment… I don’t have one. I had a really nice digi camera but my hubby dropped it in the river during a fishing trip in Canada a few months ago. I’m not sure how he thought he could negotiate a fishing pole, a float tube, AND a camera (obviously, he couldn’t), and my camera lost that battle! I am now researching and saving up for a new one. Any suggestions?
Anything Else: I have a Bamboo tablet but have a new Intuos one on my wish list!
Whatever you do, do it from your heart and do it with a positive attitude. It’s easy to find negativity, but if you focus your efforts in finding the products and people that you genuinely enjoy, and compliment others for what they bring to the table too, then you will always find joy in this hobby. I am a huge believer in karma and firmly believe that my own success is a result of a positive attitude, great customer service, and a genuine love of this hobby.
I saw an image on the internet that inspired me to do a peacock look. I liked the colors and it fit my mood of the moment.
