Meet Lauren M

BIO: I grew up in Utah and attended Brigham Young University where I met my husband in physical science class.  I graduated in Early Childhood Education and enjoyed teaching kindergarten for four years.  Now I stay at home with my daughters, ages five and one, who are most often the subjects in my scrapbook layouts.  My love of photography began in fifth grade when I was given an old camera of my mom’s.  Back then I wanted to take photos of beautiful places more than photos of people.  Now I take my Nikon with me just about everywhere I go and take photos of beautiful places, special people, and ordinary kinds of stuff!  My passion for scrapbooking began in middle school when my best friend and I began collecting fun papers and stickers from our local craft store.  It was thirteen years later when I discovered the digital scrapbooking world and I am so glad I did!  I love that I can make mistakes and undo them, there is no mess, I can use supplies over and over again, and I can have more than one copy of a layout printed!

5 PRODUCTS I CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT:

1. Templates–even though someone else created them I can still make them my own AND it cuts down on time so that I can get more scrapping done!
2. Staples–I use them ALL the time.  Maybe too much…
3.  Stitches–there are lots of great ones out there but my go-to stitches are from Carina Gardner’s Essentials Collection
4.  Scallop Templates–my favorites are by Crystal Wilkerson
5. Handwriting fonts–I especially love the ones at Fonts for Peas

MY STYLE:

The “Less is More” idea describes my style best.  I like to keep my pages simple, often using just one or two photos.  I try to keep them from getting too cluttered with elements.  Journaling has become very important to me and I like to journal on every layout if I can.

MY SCRAPPING IDOL:

The first person to come to mind is a wonderfully talented woman who was on the Jessica Sprague team with me, Miki.  Although I would say our styles are a little different, I love every layout she creates.  Seriously.

WHY I AM EXCITED TO BE ON THE TEAM:

There is nothing like the support of an online scrapbooking community!  Being part of a team gives me a sense of purpose and a whole lot of motivation.  I am excited to get to know a new group of talented people and to be able to use the wide variety of products The Daily Digi has to offer.  I am looking forward to being inspired and supported and hope to inspire and support others in their memory keeping endeavors!
