My name is Traci Reed and I’ve made it my life’s mission to help inspire as many lovingly-crafted, story-rich scrapbook pages as I can. I want my designs to be the springboard to beautiful scrapbook pages that capture all the emotion, details and love you put into your pages.
A little about me, I’m a wife, mother, maid, chef, chauffeur, entrepreneur and artist. My husband Patrick and I live in sunny Northern California with our three boys Karsten, Josiah and Finn. We have 1 rescued mini pincher/terrier mix puppy named Abby and that’s about all I can handle! Between taking the boys to school, karate and all the other extracurriculars, I somehow find time to come up with new digital scrapbooking product each week. When I’m not working, I love to craft, read, cook, knit or crochet, or just pass out in a heap of exhausted mommy on the couch!
I created this baby book of my son’s first year purely using one template over and over again! I loved the uniform, yet varied look of rotating and changing the template each month with his monthly birthday photos and I think it came together in a really lovely way!
I’ve been scrapbooking since I was a little girl, first with some stamp company named “Dotz” or something like that, and then my sister sold Creative Memories for a while. I went digital in 2004 when I happened to find the digital scrapbooking issue from Simple Scrapper and I never looked back! I started designing at the end of 2004 when I decided I needed more than just freebies but was too broke to buy what I wanted!
Mostly color and everyday life. I love to make products that can be used for many purposes and that express emotion through color!
Computer: I have an iMac that’s running Snow Leopard. I have 4 gigs of ram, and a terabyte hard drive. The Screen is a backlit LCD (like an iPad) and I couldn’t be happier. I LOVE LOVE LOVE my iMac.
Program: I use Adobe CS4, Photoshop and Illustrator mostly.
Camera: Canon 7D, she’s my precious.
Anything Else: nope
Did you know that Photoshop has spell check built right in? I’m always shocked at how many people don’t realize it! It’s right there under Edit>Check Spelling!
My favorite product right now has to be my trio of kits that I called the Resolve To Grow collection. I set out to do a set of kits that encompassed resolutions that had a deeper meaning. Three kits about Faith, Family and Creativity are what came out of that idea. I love their colors and shabby chic-ness and they mean a lot to me because they signify a point in my career where I really embraced change and my own creativity.
I love My Home Is Where You Are because I think it’s the most universal, all encompassing kit I’ve ever made. I wanted to make a kit that EVERYONE could use and we all have family or a spouse or our kids that we feel this way about. I chose very neutral colors and went with elegant, simple elements and it just came out exactly how I envisioned.
