Iara truly has a knack for creating kits with a vintage charm and feel. I love that her kits are truly vintage, but you could easily create a layout with a modern flair as well if you wanted to. Her collections are so versatile for any scrapping style. Let’s take a closer look at “Sunny Day” that is included in The Digi Files this month:

I have to confess I am addicted to scrapbooking. I make a layout, a card, a mini album page or an art journal entry every day.I am not always able to finish a project in a day though. I am not the fastest scrapper/designer. I am a perfeccionist and can’t stop adding things to my pages and kits until I feel it is “complete.”

My journey in the scrapbook world started through pixel graphics. When I moved overseas I decided to start a web page to share photos, thoughts and keep contact with my friends and relatives (that was way before Facebook. 🙂 I came across a cute mouse made by pixel graphics for website decoration. I someday found out they were computer made and simply had to give a it try. If you want to see how those graphics look, be sure to visit my early website.
My customers often said they would use my graphics for scrapbooking but I thought that making pages was not something for me until I got pregnant with my oldest daughter and decided to make a pregnancy album. I started as a digi scrapper but soon tried paper scrap and loved it too. I kept drawing pixel graphics and scrapping until June 2007 when I decided to try my hand as a digi designer. I never made a pixel graphics again since then!
My first store was Elemental Scraps and I moved to Scrapbook Graphics in November 2007, my digi home since them. I am a paper, hybrid and digi scrapper. I have a huge stash of digi supplies and lots of paper in my drawers. My husband is building a craft place for me and the kids in our attic; it is my dream come true. My scrap heart belongs to the mini albums. I love that they fit so nicely in the hand and tell an entire story. I print my digi layouts at home, either 8×8 in or 8.5×11. You can see my layouts, cards, art journal pages and mini albums on my Flickr page.
I find my inspiration in images. I am a huge fan of mood boards. I love when I find an image that speaks to me and them I search for other images to go with it and build a layout or a kit from this mood board. I spend lot of time on Flickr and Pinterest 😉
COMPUTER: I am PC girl. It is a Intel Core 2 Duo with 3.00 GHz RAM. I use Photoshop CS4 and Illustrator 10 (never upgraded it!), a Wacom Intuous tablet, Canon Scan Lide 600F and Canon iP6700D printer. CAMERA: My camera is a Nikon D50 and one of my 2011 goals was to go to the manual mode. I am getting better and more confident day by day.
My tip is to not go ahead with a kit or a layout if it is not feeling right. I often delete an entire page or re-do a kit (changing the colors for example) because it was not the way I imagined. And I never do things in a hurry. I spend lot of time working in one element or re-arranging things in a layout (did I say I am a perfeccionist?). I truly love each and every page I scrap and the kits I make.
