When I unzipped my first Jennifer Barrette digital scrapbooking goodies, I was blown away by both the quality and uniqueness of her designs!!  I am really excited that she has joined us this month in THE DIGI FILES and just LOVE her contribution, “Feet In The Sand”!  Here’s a closer look:

This is just ONE of the SEVEN collections you get in THE DIGI FILES this month!  What a GREAT way to be able to try some new-to-you designers at a very low-risk to you!  Even if you only like ONE kit, it’s still less than you will pay at the end of the month when these items go back into the designers stores.  Here are some layouts created with this kit…so much you can do:

Layout by JenLin, additional supplies: Fizzy Pop Sidekick No. 14, Template 4 (modified), Fonts: Haphazard, Taylor Mackenzie, Typewriter Scribbled

Be sure to check out even more inspiration in our Team Inspiration category (where we actually post layouts submitted by the designers’ team members, and our readers as well). 🙂

I am a work at home mom to 2 beautiful and crazy little girls.  We live in Kenora, Ontario Canada with my husband Dave, our Pug, and our Kitty. When I am not glued to my computer, love to take day trips with my family, eat…errr… I mean cook, and
when I take a chance to sit down…I love to watch a good movie or sit down to one of my favorite shows (I am big fan of Glee and Survivor)  I am also a wanna-be runner (I run slower than most people walk…) and hope to complete a 5K next year!

Back-up everything, and then back it up again!   I am extra paranoid about losing my photos, and design tools, but also would hate to lose my digital stash.  I really recommend a EHD to have an extra copy of you important files, but I wouldn’t rely on an EHD as my only back-up.  I think it is a great idea to back-up to an off site location.  When my laptop got fried, I was so happy that I had invested in an online back-up and could access my files right away.

I started scrapbooking after my first daughter was born.  I pickup up a small collection of paper supplies and a ton of scrapbooking magazines (I love magazines!) One of them came with a sample digital scrapbooking program.  I played around with it, and was hooked!  I never did get to use much of those paper supplies I bought…LOL I started playing around with designing shortly after.  I am a matchy scrapbooker, so I wanted kits to really go with my daughters colorful wardrobe.  That was in November 2006, so it has been over 3 years now.

Short answer – LIFE, I get inspiration from all around me, a quote, a random pattern, colorful t-shirt, my kits are inspired by many things.  I would say I draw a lot of inspiration from color.  Whenever I see a beautiful color combination, I snap a photo and add it to my inspiration folder on my computer.  Many kits have started in the folder!

I am currently designing on a Windows desktop, with 4 gigs of ram. I was on a Dell Laptop…until my daughter spilled water on it! LOL My desktop can take 8 gigs of ram…so I do plan up on upgrading eventually, right now it works great. I design in Photoshop CS3, but plan on upgrading to CS5 this year. I just got my first DSLR camera this year, a Canon Rebel.  I also have a Sony P&S.

My favorite seems to change with each kit I create, but I would say my “Clouds Over Head” kit. It is a little different than my usual work, but it reflected how I was feeling at the time.

My best selling kit was my Autumn Blush kit.  I love that is so colorful for a traditional fall kit.

Another customer favorite and probably one of my favorite kits, is my collaboration kit “A Day Like Today” with Lauren Grier.  I love creating kits with her, ours styles really compliment each others.
