As a template and two-page loving scrapper, I am super excited to introduce our sponsor for today — Yin Designs. Yin, who designs templates to support her scrapping habit, has an amazing collection of templates and she specializes in LOTS of photos and two page spreads. I am totally inspired by how many photos she gets on a page and how full and exciting her pages are. She is truly talented. I can’t wait to show you some of her work. Here are the templates she created just for THE DIGI FILES 8.
And here are some of team pages using these great templates! (You can click on the 2-pagers to make them larger)

Layout by Kelly: everything from TDD8 except “September”- S2 Month to Month from The Daily Digi
I was born in and have lived all my life in my lovely island country of Singapore. My husband and I have been married 15 years and been friends since we were 15. Our sons are ten and twelve and growing up way too fast! I’m an accountant by training and still work part time. That’s why I’m so addicted to digi-scrapbooking – it’s my much needed creative outlet, and of course I really love the ‘recording’ of our life.
STORE: Yin Designs
BLOG: Simply Yin
(you really need to check out her blog…I just LOVE the design with all the LO’s peaking out!)
It was the sheer fun of creating, putting together ideas, color swatches and trying out new techniques that drew me to start designing.
JI had to check my blog, it was June 2006! I designed kits for a year, and it was so much fun, I was in creative heaven so to speak, walking, thinking, dreaming design ideas all the time. I gave it up a year later as I was just not able to keep up and was neglecting other important areas in my life. After that I started sharing templates from my layouts and had good feedback, and that’s how my template designing began!
I am definitely a scrapper most of all. I made a pact with myself when I set up this store, that I will only make templates from my completed layouts, and not make templates just for sale. This ensures that my scrapbooks take first priority. So far it has worked out so well, I’m pretty much caught up on my scrapping, I get a creative rush from making every layout, and the store is a wonderful bonus!
Including scrapping and blogging time, I probably spend 10 to 14 hours a week. I try hard to keep it down and be super-efficient. I do what Katie the Scrapbook Lady described as power scrapping on the Daily Digi a few weeks back.
They are all templates! But probably these two are my current favorites:
I planned this in my mind for a few weeks and still love this heart shaped template adapted from a Valentines’ card layout I made for Dh in February. You can still snag it on my blog HERE.
And I so enjoyed this one that I used for a beach layout where photos engulfed practically the entire layout!
- Hanging out time with my family
- Watching Korean dramas with Dh (the non-sappy, romantic comedy kind)
- Hunting for vintage , inexpensive and gorgeous cocktail rings
- Green tea latte
- Travel (do it ourselves on a shoe string kind)
- Planning the trip!
- Flea markets
- Learning about God and His Word at Bible Study Fellowship – such a blessing!
- Hearing testimonies, reading true stories and biographies
- People who don’t say what they mean
- Being in a rush. Unfortunately I’m always in a rush!
- Cockroaches – I am terrified of them!
- Wasting time – I must always be doing something, and I constantly multitask!
- The boys’ toys (lego pieces, bionicles, knex…) and books that are constantly strewn all over our home
- Paper cuts, I am so prone to them
- A bad hair day
- Reality shows that do not have a point
- Paper work, bills, insurance, etc
- People who take advantage of others
