For Those New (and not so new) to Digital Scrapbooking

I just wanted to say THANK YOU for all of your great questions!  It was so good to see what kinds of things readers want to know about, what they want to do better, and what they see that the site has to offer.   I will be compiling the questions and getting some answers for you — both in a Q&A posts and also some that deserve a post of their own.  Some of the subjects were already scheduled so it is good to know that we are on the right track.  Remember, there are no stupid questions…I had scrapped for over two years before I figured out what a brush was and how to use it! LOL!  If you have more questions, feel free to continue adding comments to yesterday’s post or you can always reach us using the CONTACT US button to the right.

We have gotten a number of questions (both yesterday and previously in emails) that makes me realize we need to make sure people know about the wealth of information in our “FOR THOSE NEW TO DIGITAL SCRAPPING” section of the site.  You can always get to in by clicking the image (right below my photo on the right sidebar).  There is a TON of information there on tops such as shadows, printing layouts, using templates, installing actions, and MORE.  Whether or not you are really “new” to digital scrapping…there is information there for you!  Let us know if there is something that should be there, but isn’t. We’ll see what we can do!

Any Questions

Over the past seven months, I have gotten all sorts of questions from readers on how to do something, where to find something, and more.  I do my best to answer those questions that I can.  As I was answering other reader email this weekend I thought that maybe it would be good to officially invite questions in and then I can answer them here on the blog.  So if you have some burning questions, get ready!

If you have any questions for me and/or TDD Artist team, here is your chance!  Although we encourage questions that are digital scrapbooking/photography related, all questions are fair game (though I can’t guarantee they will be answered!)  Post your family-friendly question(s) in the comments of this post and we will do our best to give you the information you want either in a special Q&A post or if the topic is big enough, in a a future post all its own.

I can’t wait to see what YOU want to know.  Ask away…

WOO HOO!!!  It’s here, and I am SO excited!

SCRAPPING & SNAPPING is the THE DAILY DIGI’S first collab kit. It was put together by 25 of our past sponsors.  The goal of this kit is to celebrate what we love — SCRAPPING {page}  & SNAPPING {photos}.  I just LOVE the bright colors, fun designs, and the inspiration it gives.

This kit is JAM PACKED with approximately:

180 elements
66 papers
1 action
1 overlay
1 brush set
4 alphas
1 Hybrid/Printable Projects
1 Hybrid Album: 1
{15} 8×8 quick pages
{5} 12×12 quick pages
5 templates

For just $5.00 — you can’t beat it!

I think one of my favorite parts of this kit are all the quick pages included.  Now, I am not usually a quick page kind of gal.  But these pages — by the Sugarbabes and the TDD Artist team — are WOW.  Like really WOW.  Here are a few I whipped up WITH QUICK PAGES!

And here are two other pages I made with the kit:

This kit will be available all month long and during that time we will show you great pages, fun projects, and MORE.  Plus, our sponsors will be popping in on Mondays to spotlight new kits, fun sales, and other cool stuff they have going on.

Welcome, August…we are SO glad you are here!

If You Ever Crave Chocolate

I never used to have a sweet tooth. I never really actually understood when other women would say that just needed to have some chocolate. It wasn’t that I didn’t like it — it was fine. But I can’t say I ever craved it, or needed it. And then I got pregnant with baby number four and all things changed. Chocolate was a NEED. A real give-it-to-me-or-you-die kind of need. I didn’t worry about it because I knew that once I had the baby all would back to normal and all Twix and Reece’s would be safe once again. Boy, was I wrong.

My baby is now 16 months old and I still crave chocolate. It is better than it was (starving the craving does, admittedly, help a little. But shhh…I didn’t tell you that) but I sill crave it at times. It just meets some instinctual female need, I guess. Me + chocolate = happiness.

So, if you are like me and have ever craved chocolate — I have a treat for you. A few weeks ago I was blog hopping and came across something — and they warned me — VERY dangerous. Very, very, dangerous. Over at the Everyday Celebrating blog they had a recipe for 5-minute chocolate cake. Yes, you read that right. You are just five minutes away from amazingly yummy homemade chocolate cake. You are five minutes away from this:

Oh yea…that’s what I am talking about. A little bit of chocolate heaven in a cup. And it is totally easy! Here is the recipe:

4 tablespoons of flour
4 tablespoons of sugar
2 tablespoons of cocoa
1 egg
3 tablespoons of milk
3 tablespoons of oil
3 tablespoons of chocolate chips (optional)
A splash of vanilla extract
A coffee mug

1. Add dry ingredients to mug and mix well.

2. Add the egg and mix thoroughly.

3. Pour in the milk and oil and mix well.

4. Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla extract and mix again. (Now I realize that the recipe says that chocolate chips are optional, but I am telling you, the are not optional! Well, not for me anyway).

5. Place the mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts.

Don’t be alarmed if the cake rises over the top of the mug!

Now you can eat it as is (which is my 9 o’clock snack method) or you can wait for it to cool, slice in half, top with some whipped cream or ice cream and voila!, a perfect five-minute treat. Won’t your friends be impressed when they stop by unannounced and you serve them this!

If you spend a few minutes in any scrap forum or blog, it won’t take long for you to see that we LOVE our blikies (animated gif’s)!! Simple Blinkies can be very…well…simple to make…haha! 🙂 I (Steph) thought today I would link you up to some tutorials so you can learn how to make your own.

It is sooooooo BIG and FULL of really FUN things that will have your brain spinning with ideas as soon as you unzip!! This mega kit, called “Scrapping and Snapping” will be in the store on August 3rd for only $5.
